And as you can tell, I’ve posted almost every day since I decided to dedicate more time to this blog. The problem is, one of the reasons why I stopped blogging here in the first place was because I didn’t really feel the time I was putting in was worth the response I was receiving. Don’t get me wrong, writing will always be my first and foremost number one thing to do but writing for a blog is a lot different to writing snippets of information for a photo or image or commenting on an image on Tumblr. For me, blogging has always been serious business. When I’m blogging about Star Wars or SWTOR and nobody reads my blog post, it kind of disheartens me to think that something I am so passionate about is not interesting enough for people to read or comment on. And you know what? That really kinda sucks…

I live and breathe writing, at one point I was a freelance journalist making a living by writing so I know exactly how important writing can be to a writer. But writing for fun or as a hobby is a completely different experience and you should expect a completely different experience because nobody is paying me to blog about Star Wars or SWTOR.

I’ve read dozens of blog posts about how to get followers, how to improve your stats and analytics to try and improve but in the end, none of that really matters because I like to think I write from a place that doesn’t need validation from strangers.

I was wrong on every count and it does.

I know what you’re thinking – “you need to toughen up, nobody is going to love your blog just because you started one”… or “if you don’t stick at it and build a habit of your daily blogging you’re not gonna succeed in gaining the audience you want”. All of this is sound advice but it doesn’t help in the least to motivate me.

I made a promise to myself that if I can continue writing regularly for a year, I can then reassess things once that goal is achieved. Ultimately, I am aiming to blog from home again and continue to be the writer I was meant to be instead of this “blog’s sometimes” type who just isn’t really me at all.
