SWTOR: Armour Comparison #02 Gav Daragon Armour Set

SWTOR Blog Banner

It’s SWTOR Armour Comparison time again where I take a random armour set from the game and compare it to examples taken from other star wars media such as comics, film, books etc. Did the SWTOR creators get it right or did they make a complete mess of an otherwise perfectly good set of armour? Let’s find out…

The set we’ll be looking at I’ve mentioned before in an Instagram story post relating to the Gav Daragon armour set. Personally, I don’t find it very appealing but I’ve seen some pretty cool and creative uses for different parts of the armour set in SWTOR.

Armour Set: Gav Daragon
Found in: The Wingman’s Starfighter Cartel Pack, The Dogfighter Cartel Pack
Reference: Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi – The Golden Age of the Sith Issue #2

I’ve compared the SWTOR Gav Daragon set to the comic version taken from Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi – The Golden Age of the Sith (not a great picture either, unfortunately).

GAV DARAGON COMICS VS SWTOR ARMOUR SET

You can see the main outline of the design is the same with the *white (it’s supposed to be white but it doesn’t look very white in the SWTOR image) chest and leg piece looking fairly consistent with the comic image as well as the gold belt, bracers and neck-piece. I was unable to get an image with Gav Daragon showing his boots but I’m pretty sure they match. So for this set, the BioWare designers did a fairly good job of maintaining consistency with historic Star Wars media.
Overall Rating 6.5/10 – BioWare did great in the consistency area, but I’m not entirely sure why this set was chosen as it is actually an ugly set compared to many others they could have created.
