I don’t care for “goody two shoes” or people that claim that “everything is just peachy” all of the time. That’s impossible. You may not have as many challenges as some people do but nothing is OK all of the time, 24-7. Nothing.
If you had to think of that one defining moment in your life that made you who you are today, would it be something that meant nothing? No, it would most likely relate to an event in your life that you overcame with great hardship and toil, something that meant a great deal to you, something wrapped up in tears, sweat or blood. These are the things that truly define us.
I don’t pretend to be a preacher telling people how life is. I can’t even make sense of my own half the time. But we are bound by our pain, our hurt and our strife. We are sisters and brothers intertwined by the aspects of our lives we try so hard to forget. I do this. I’m trying to unlearn this. I want to acknowledge my weaknesses, my failures and my pain as much as I do my dreams, my hopes and my achievements.
I’ll let you know how things go with this. I hope you’ll share some of your journey with me also.
