Question of the Day #4 – If you could sum up your personality in one word, what would it be?

This is both a writing exercise and a thinking exercise – think of one word, only one that best describes your personality. Does that seem difficult to do? I’ve never had to do it before, so I’m right there with you! What word could possibly encapsulate who you are as a person? As good as your vocabulary is, do you find yourself reaching for the dictionary or even the thesaurus?

This question kind of reminds me of the type of question your teacher might ask you in English class – a question that gets you thinking about something is better than sitting at your desk, bored to death with having to read Romeo and Juliet yet again 🤣

Well, the good news is, most of us are probably out of school now (I think, I could be wrong here and if so, forgive me I am definitely not being ageist), but the bad news is I still need a word. I’m trying to think of what people I know might call me, but that’s odd right because you’d think that you would be able to understand yourself well enough to describe your personality. But what if you don’t? What if you’ve never thought about it, never asked a friend what they think of you, like really think of you. What if you don’t even know yourself who you really are?

Not gonna lie, this question has me stumped, 😂 and now there are now even more questions. What does it say about me if I can’t think of word? What does it say about you if you can? You have a much better grasp of vocabulary than I do,🤣😂 but seriously, I am struggling here.

Okay, I actually found a word that I like, and it definitely describes my nature, so I’m going to share it:

BENEVOLENT

characterized by or expressing goodwill or kindly feelings: a benevolent attitude; her benevolent smile.

desiring to help others; charitable: gifts from several benevolent alumni.

intended for benefits rather than profit: a benevolent institution.

Obviously, I have days like any other person where I am probably not feeling so benevolent, but this word does describe my true nature and therefore, is a true representation of who I am.
