SPOILERS DISCUSSD – IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED, AVOID THIS POST

So if you haven’t yet seen the trailer (I’m sorry but are you living under a rock, friend?) here it is in its entirety:

And if you did not see the SWCC panel at all, you probably won’t know that Ian McDiarmid came on at the very end for a teaser trailer encore and the crowd went absolutely wild! Of course, I was huddled in front of my screens, with my hands partly over my mouth and chest-clapping quietly to myself because it was 5 am in the morning. I really didn’t want to hold in my excitement and tears and general fan-girlyness, but I also didn’t want to wake up my soundly sleeping partner in the opposite room.Later on, I was having a discussion via text message with a fellow Star Wars fan friend of mine, and she said something that I thought was quite interesting.

QUESTION ONE:

In the first part of the trailer, you see Rey doing what looks like training on a very sandy covered planet (maybe Tattooine or Jakku?). Within minutes of that, you see a TIE fighter coming right for her just before she does her fantastic leap into the air over the top of it. My friend thinks they were “training” together. And I never thought of that. If they were fighting each other, why wasn’t Kylo firing down on her with his ships’ blasters? Good question, right?

QUESTION TWO:

Who is it that Kylo Ren is practically wiping the ground with as he storms onto the Battlefield with his lightsaber in hand? Is it a Resistance fighter? Is it a Knight of Ren?

QUESTION THREE:

Who is it that’s repairing Kylo Ren’s mask? At first, I thought it was Kylo Ren, but then I paid more attention to the trailer afterwards, and you can clearly see it’s not Kylo or even something humanoid fixing his mask. WHO IS THE MYSTERIOUS FIXER PERSON. AND IS THAT A KYBER CRYSTAL HE’S USING TO FORGE THE MASK BACK TOGETHER????

QUESTION FOUR:

Why do we hear Darth Sidious’ evil laughter at the end of the trailer? Isn’t he dead? Do you think he’s come back as a dark side force ghost to guide (or cruelly manipulate, probably both) Kylo Ren back again to the dark side of the force? Or just to help him defeat Rey?

QUESTION FIVE:

Is the MacGuffin that everyone is talking about on Reddit and Tumblr and everywhere you can possibly talk about Star Wars a single artefact or a group of artifacts? What do think Kylo needs them for? To summon the force ghost of Sidious or his grandfather even? Are the resistance just trying to thwart Kylo Ren’s plans or do they need the artefacts for something else?

QUESTION SIX:

THE SEMI BROKEN DEATH STAR IS SLIGHTLY SUBMERGED IN WATER – IS THIS THE DEATHSTAR OR THE SECOND DEATHSTAR THAT WAS BEING BUILT IN ROTJ?

QUESTION SEVEN:

WHO IS THE SKYWALKER THAT RISES IN THE TITLE OF THE FILM? COULD THE RUMOUR ABOUT REY’S PARENTAGE FINALLY BE ANSWERED? ARE THEY REFERRING TO BEN WHO HAS SKYWALKER BLOOD? COULD HE BE TURNED BACK TO THE LIGHT AND RISE AS THE LAST SKYWALKER IN THE SAGA? WILL KYLO RISE AS THE DARK SIDE’S CHAMPION? IS IT SOMEONE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT? IS IT LUKE? COULD IT EVEN BE LEIA? 😂😂
