I promised I would continue to blog here about my experiences as a writer and what it’s been like getting back into the “saddle” again, so-to-speak. I’m not going to lie, it has actually been both exciting and a little harrowing. It’s been a good long while since I’ve had to write for someone else and make it matter. I suppose you can say that if you’re not writing this way all of the time, you’re selling yourself short and being a lazy writer. Well, I think I’ve been all of those things and then some and now I have to get my crap together and prove I can actually write.

Do you know how daunting that is? I’m a little dramatic, I know, it’s not like it’s Time Magazine or anything, but as I said, it’s been a while, and I feel very very rusty. I’ve submitted my first article and the topic wasn’t anything fantastic, just something I’ve wanted to write about for some time. I’ll link to it once it’s proofed and ready for the world.

The one thing I don’t want to do is get bogged down in worrying about page views. I just want to write, for now, that’s all I really want to do. The money isn’t even a thing, it’s a nice incentive to help me focus on creating good content, but it’s not what drives me, and it never has been.

My love is for the craft itself, to some that may sound strange, but that’s always been the reason behind why I write, and it hasn’t changed yet.

Also, I’m up to my third chapter in my story and I actually feel good enough to post some of it here, so I’ll do that next post.
