Happy Star Wars Day! New Motion Art – Darth Vader on Mustafar

To all my friends and Star Wars fans all over the world, I bid you a very Happy Star Wars Day! May the 4th will come sooner for me as I live in the future (New Zealand). And although we may not be able to celebrate outdoors, here’s a little something I did to honour the day with you all.

A quick post of new edits I’ve made. After writing about Darth Vader and his quest to find everlasting life as a Sith lord, I decided to animate this textless cover from one of the Darth Vader comics.

Here’s the original art work by Elia Bonetti and Giuseppe Camuncoli

And here is my motion art animated cover:

Happy Star Wars day however you choose to celebrate it and May the Force Be With You all 🙂

  1. Happy Star Wars Day to you also! I always liked Vader’s castle in Rogue One and this picture really captures the bleak and volatile atmosphere (and Vader’s inner turmoil). I must try adding some “atmospheric effects” into my renders such as layers of mist or fog.
May The Force Be With You…..always!

      1. Hello there, yes I hope to add some FX to my images I render but I have to create an animation then take one of the frames as a single image, This is because Blender animates the mist or fog (and even flames) as an object and it has to develop and expand based on real world physics. So basically the mist layer would start small then grow and move. Should look cool though. Thanks again.

    1. No but I have a friend who is a crazy lego collector so he’s most likely got it 🙂 What makes it so awesome? I should go check it out and see. I am more of a Hot Toys and pop vinyl collector myself 🙂

      1. The build was really fun. It is just very unique. I have a lot of SW Lego sets (somewhere over 100 sets at this point) and I don’t do a lot of buildings. I’m more into the ships and vehicles, but I am really proud of the castle being part of the collection.

I also have a lot of the pop vinyl as well. My general rule is that I never buy ANYTHING full price unless I have a coupon or some discount to apply. Otherwise, I hit the clearance sales hard. It is amazing how much good stuff you can get if you are just patient and wait to buy something.
