This is probably the most time-consuming tutorial review that I’ve done on the site so far. As you know, I’ve spent a lot of time going over basic Photoshop techniques for beginners and reviewing those tutorials.
This is what you start off with (this is actually two images blended together, so you begin outright with a background image and a stock image of the subject)
So I thought I’d really mix it up this time, take a break from beginner tutorials, and jump into something a lot more complicated. The end result was so worth the effort and time, and it definitely tested my patience to learn which I enjoyed.
But I wouldn’t recommend this tutorial for a beginner. If you’re at an intermediate level, you should be able to get through the steps.
Final Summary:
Tutor: Adrian Scheff
Time: I would give yourself at least an hour or even two for this tutorial as it is quite intensive with a lot of steps
Level: It says you can do this tutorial as a beginner, but I wouldn’t recommend it as there are so many different tools and techniques involved to create the final image.
There are 70 steps included in this tutorial to work through and no video provided but all of the resources you need to make the image are included which was great.
Rating: I really enjoyed this tutorial a great deal, and for the most part, the steps were detailed and easy to follow. I’ll definitely be doing more of these in future when time allows – 9.5/10
And my final image:
