We already know that Disney has decided to use the High Republic era as their next time line for the foreseeable future, but if you could choose which era to go to, which one would you choose and why?

While I grew up with the Star Wars cinematic universe and that particular time line, I do also really enjoy the stories and characters from the Knights of the Old Republic era as well. There are some fascinating characters that were around then such as Darth Revan (if you want a story similar to Anakin’s, his is more than worthy), Darth Bane, Darth Malak and Malgus to name a few.

I am not too sure about the High Republic era at this stage. While it has been confirmed by Disney that they will be using that time line for their writing team, nothing has been confirmed about anything further on the cinematic front. And even though we know very little about this era, I am sure there will be at least a few interesting characters that come out of it, particularly in the books.

It’s purely a personal thing, but I think the reason why the Old Republic and the Republic eras are so popular is that we know so much about the heroes and villains that lived during those eras in the time line. And there are so many other stories being told about those eras as well including comics and books.

So if I had to choose, I’d choose the Republic era because that is the era I know the most about as a fan and the era that my favourite hero, Luke Skywalker, was born. But maybe your choices are different.
