When I read about this, at first, I thought it was someone trying to be funny. But they weren’t joking! Anakin Skywalker was almost the same height as Obi-Wan when they were together during the Clone Wars. After Anakin’s transformation into Darth Vader, Darth Vader was nearly three feet taller when he faced Obi-Wan Kenobi on the Death Star in A New Hope.
I’ve never thought about this, and I don’t usually find memes all that good as reference posts either, but here it is:
It seemed that Palpatine wanted to ensure Darth Vader was as menacing as possible so that his enemies would fear him even more.
Isn’t that just insane?!

Hi there, just some more Vader related nuggets of info. In some novels and comics Vader’s boots actually had magnetised soles so he could walk on the hulls of spaceships when artificial gravity failed or when he found himself outside of a ship in space (for example during boarding operations). Palpatine also made the suit as painful to wear as possible so Anakin always suffered…and suffering leads to anger…anger leads to hate and hate made him powerful. However Palps was also rumoured to have installed a “Kill Switch” in the suit should he ever be attacked by Vader before the time was right (bearing in mind a Sith apprentice had to kill his Master to carry on the Rule of Two).
But back to his height maybe he just had well heeled boots!

I actually knew that about what Darth Sidious did to the suit to make Anakin suffer more and the kill switch thing as well. Maybe I could post about that in one of my posts – I am trying to remember if I did already lol. I’ll have to have a look through my posts and see if I’ve already blogged about it but I find it fascinating the amount of detail in the Star Wars universe always surprises me. I didn’t know about the boots though, that’s so cool! Thank you 😀
