For any of my readers that use Photoshop or Adobe products, there was a recent update to Photoshop which I haven’t really had time to play with as yet. But one of the best tools in Photoshop for creating subject selections has been updated, and that’s a big deal. This tool allows you to “cut out” anything from an image whether that be a person, an object or anything you want really. In particular, when using the selection tool to select hair on a subject, this can be a tricky technique to master. With the new improvements to this tool, it’s even easier to select a subject and their hair and make that selection look realistic.
I’ve already used the tool on one of my earlier images where I cut out the picture of Timothee Chalamet in a graphic I was making:

The selection I made was good enough to use, but I refined it even more with the updated tool and used it again in a different image:

As you can see, the improvement is a much cleaner selection in the updated image above.
