Photoshop Tutorial Review – Realistic Clouds in a Coffee Cup

I’m slowly getting back into reviewing tutorials again. As some of you may know, I started a podcast and a new blog about movies recently with my partner which has been taking up a lot of my spare time to launch and create content for.

I am now ready to create again and make more of a mess in Photoshop 🤣 I decided to get back into things slowly with this cute tutorial for creating a “Clouds in a Coffee Cup” photo manipulation.

In this tutorial, you will go from this:

To this and if you zoom right in on this image, you’ll see a sailing ship sailing on a sea of clouds!

This was really easy to achieve using layer masks, cloud brushes and two different images for the composite.

Time: 30 minutes

Level: Beginner Level

Comment: This was a written instruction tutorial and not a video tutorial but it was perfectly easy to follow along with. Bonus points for all of the assets being available for you to use from the link above.

This tutorial also provides you with a copy of the PSD if you need to check out how it was created by the tutor. I prefer not to use the PSDs provided and create my own which I highly recommend you do as well.

Rating: 10/10
