My First Ever Blogging Nomination on WordPress!

Hi everyone!

Just a personal update because it’s a special one – I’ve been nominated for the Blogging Recognition Award by https://annlyelonline.wordpress.com/! It’s a very special nomination because it’s my first one blogging on this platform.

Before today, I didn’t know a thing about blogging nominations or awards. The only thing I knew was that some people I follow get nominated quite a lot but I never knew how the process worked.

So for anyone wondering, if you get nominated for a blogging award, there is a set of rules you have to follow for each nomination. I am not sure if they change depending on the nomination, but you’ve got to follow the rules outlined.

This is a good link to start with by WordPress on how the awards work.

Rules of Nomination

The first rule is to list the rules in a post:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
2. Place the award banner somewhere on your blog
3. Share the reason behind the creation of your blog.
4. Provide two or more pieces of advice for new bloggers.
5. Nominate 15 other bloggers and link their blogs.
6. Share the exciting news with your nominees

Thank the Blogger That Nominated You and Provide a Link to Their Blog

Thank you so much @ https://annlyelonline.wordpress.com/. Check out her blog if you’re really into movies or geeky stuff!

Share Why You Started Your Blog

I am not entirely sure if anyone remembers me from wayyyyy back in 2017 but the reason I started the blog then was to have somewhere for my Star Wars fan fiction to live. And that was it. I had no other ideas about the blog other than I needed somewhere to write about Star Wars in a fictional setting and created this blog.

The blog has evolved A LOT since then as many of you know, and it has grown exponentially in every way, just like its owner 😁

Provide Two or More Pieces of Advice for New Bloggers

In many ways, I am still quite new to blogging because I seem to learn new things almost every other day. But in terms of advice for brand new bloggers, my first suggestion is to always stay true to yourself when you blog. I’ve had a lot of personal ups and downs with blogging but the one thing that I’ve always been advised by other bloggers is to do what you want – it’s your blog and it doesn’t matter how many readers you have. Always reflect who you are in your blog. If people like what they see, they’ll follow and if not, that’s okay too.

The second piece of advice I’d give is to remain vigilant as blogging can be a difficult thing to juggle, especially if you don’t have a lot of free time. Make a blogging habit and stick to it. Again, I would never give advice unless I had learned from personal experience. For most people, blogging regularly works really well and provides consistency which is important for your readers. Stick to a regular blogging habit as much as possible.

Nominate 15 Other Bloggers and Link to Their Blogs

I think this part of the rules can only work if you have a lot of readers you regularly interact with or you follow a lot of blogs on WordPress. And I only really have a handful of readers that I interact with on a regular basis so I am going to nominate some people from that list:

Mei-Mei AKA Jedi By Knight

Her blog is about Star Wars and other things such as photography which is awesome! She is one of my “Star Wars” regular readers and you should definitely check her out!

ForTyeth AKA FTSabersite

Another one of my Star Wars regulars, FT’s site is honestly amazing to look at because he focuses on Lightsabers! If you’re at all interested in Star Wars or in particular, lightsabers and everything to do with lightsabers, his site is a must-follow!

IT AKA The Imperial Talker

In-depth analysis of Star Wars with Star Wars haiku’s to match! Nobody creates Star Wars haiku’s like IT – check him out!

Neil AKA Neil’s Thoughts

Neil and I have quite a few things in common including our love for Star Wars and geeky things like Dr Who! His blog is a personal blog about his life and family and Linux! Please drop by his blog and check out his content

If you are nominated you do NOT have to accept the nomination or award. It is entirely up to you 😁

Again with all my heart thanks to https://annlyelonline.wordpress.com/ for the nomination and congrats to all the newly nominated peeps listed above!

Hopefully, we’ll all get to do this more often as it’s a lot of fun and I think it’s awesome to support your fellow bloggers and friends!

Until tomorrow’s post – stay safe out there my friends, keep creating and I’ll catch you tomorrow!

If you like my Star Wars posts, you can check out more of them right here.

And while you’re there, why not consider following me on Twitter, Instagram and right here, on WordPress.

Thanks for your support!

  1. Congratulations on your nomination! Blogging does take time and patience, especially when you want your words to be articulate and the presentation to please the eye of the viewer. Persistence and creativity go hand-in-hand, I think, when one is tweaking one’s craft to the best of our abilities. This is a great achievement and I wish you ongoing success in the future.

    1. Oh thank you so much, my friend 🙂 And yes, your words are wise and true 🙂 All of those things are needed for a blog to have meaning and purpose. I don’t know if I have achieved all of those things yet, but I certainly try 🙂 Thank you again 😀 and I hope you are well 🙂

  2. Congratulations Recognised One! I’m so glad to see your efforts have been rewarded. it is moments like these that make blogging fun and show you that someone (or more than one) somewhere was moved by what you do.
And thank you for the nod of acknowledgement to me with your nomination, it’s much appreciated…though I’m not sure if I’ll able to post a response etc just yet as once more I’m having “Windows issues”. I’m gonna have to re-install and hopefully stay online but if I disappear for a while you’ll know I’m struggling.

Well done again and stay safe.

    1. Thanks FT, that means a lot 🙂 No worries at all, I know you’ll come back when you can 🙂 I hope you get your windows issue sorted soon. My partner had to pull one of his PCs apart today because it was randomly refusing to boot into Windows. He decided to pull out the CPU and fo;und it was covered in dust lol and then he took all the old thermal grease off it and reaapplied it and now it’s working much better. Computers can be darn annoying at times but also very useful 🙂 Stay safe also, my friend and thanks again 🙂

      1. Hi there and thanks. I am currently using my old Win7 laptop that I upgraded from and guess what? While I have been using it to post my last two comments here Microsoft have “INSTALLED” their new Edge browser onto it. I never asked for it, I didn’t want it and MS don’t support Win7 machines yet have stuffed it down my throat? To say I’m annoyed is understatement. Anyhoo enough of my down vibes…I’ll get back to working out a solution. Thanks again for the words of encouragement.

      2. That is Microsoft to a tee though, they impose their products on people or make it seem like you can’t do anything without them… but anyway, here’s hoping you fix things soon without their help lol 🙂

      1. OH yes I am so HYPED for Dune – I think I’ll cry if they don’t show the trailer soon lol 😛 But yeah, Dune is on my list of movies – top of the list and then Tenet. I am honestly, not that hyped for Black Widow or Wonder Woman 1984 and I don’t know why. I mean I loved the Avengers and I actually liked the Justice League but I am nore hyped for the Snyder cut releasing on HBO Max next year 😀
