Dune Teaser Trailer has Leaked!

So I kind of link Dune and Star Wars together for many reasons but mostly because there are a lot of similarities between the two. So it seems odd to me that anyone that loves Star Wars wouldn’t be interested in Dune. But it’s totally okay if you’re not, of course 😁

So there will be some Dune posts here and there but I promise not to inundate anyone with too manyπŸ˜…

I have posted about Dune before when it was first announced and I figured since the trailer releases in seven days, it might be time to post again.

I did have a lovely GIF I was going to show you all but that GIF was taken down by Warner Brothers on Instagram… I did hear that Warner Bros were being really staunch about people uploading anything relating to the film if it was from the teaser trailer and guess what? This time they were telling the truth. I mean I get it. It is breaching copyright laws.

So a quick little GIF edit I found online which I converted into a smaller GIF because I thought it was pretty!

And finally an excerpt from the book which I really like:

β€œI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

― Frank Herbert, Dune

Stay safe out there my friends and I’ll catch you in tomorrow’s post!

      2. Sweet πŸ™‚ Well we need to confirm the release date of the film because I think it would be really nice to compare what we think of the book versus Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of it in film πŸ™‚ What do you think?

I know this because I watched the full 7 or 8 hour long uncut version of the original film way back in the eighties!
You might be interested in a few Dune themed hilts I designed over the past few years. You can find them here: https://ftsabersite.wordpress.com/tag/dune/

I look forward to seeing the movie and your reactions/opinions on it.

      2. aHHH yes! There are so many great quotes in this book, I hope they use them in the movie πŸ™‚ oh wow I haven’t seen the uncut version, hmm, now I might just have to hunt it down lol πŸ™‚ and don’t worry I will have plenty to say about the film once it finally releases πŸ˜€ Thanks FT, you’re the best πŸ™‚

  1. Hi Julie, You may have difficulty finding a full length copy of the movie as there has been many edits and “Director’s Cuts” since it was released all that time ago. I was lucky, back in the 80’s one of the terrestrial tv channels in the UK (Channel 4 to be precise) showed the full length movie and it caused quite a stir. It cost me a fortune in snacks and drinks that night (and early hours of the next morning 😊 By the time it ended I looked like this….πŸ€ͺ)
I hope you get to see it though as it really is a masterpiece.

      1. Ah yes, I am the same with books but this one I read a long time ago and I am planning to re-read it with @https://norwichlinguist.wordpress.com/ and discuss the part of the book Denis Villeneuve covers in the film πŸ™‚ It’s going to be awesome! πŸ™‚
