Star Wars Trivia The Force Awakens – Did You Know?

I’m willing to bet there aren’t many star wars fans that knew this because it indeed came as a surprise to me when I read it:

It’s surprising because I had never heard of JJ Abrams showing an early cut to any other directors before. but I guess that makes sense. I like the fact that he was willing to show his work to someone unfinished and that it was Ava DuVernay. But someone on Twitter commented that it certainly emphasizes that there hasn’t been a single Star Wars feature film directed by a woman. I don’t like to bring political things into my fandoms, but that did strike a chord with me.

For anyone wondering, this is the scene in question:

While The Mandalorian isn’t a feature film, it is undoubtedly a step in the right direction as there are a few female directors involved with that project.

Here’s another little note about that scene. Knowing what everyone knows now about the fate of Ben Solo and Rey and their Dyad connection, it seems that their “connection” was shown to us all along. Even in this scene where you can see the merging of darkness and light and their lightsabers representing the perfect unison turning Rey’s face purple!

That is not a fact, by the way, that’s just me talking about the possibility that the Dyad was the plan all along. Agree with me or disagree, let me know in the comments, friends!

Take care people, and I’ll catch you in tomorrow’s post!
