Could This Be the Most Famous Star Wars Poster in the World?

The artist may not be known to Star Wars fans but he is a master of his craft none-the-less. His name is Greg Hildebrandt and this is his creation:

I’ve decided with this post that I am going to research Star Wars poster art going forward and feature as many artists as I can on my blog. I believe that poster art has its own level of awesome and does a lot more for the fans than we may realise. I consider these beautiful posters more than advertising or even art – they are a part of what makes Star Wars and movies in general, so great.

The artist’s website is here if you’d like to check out more of his art. If you visit his site, you will see that he is truly amazing. You’ll also notice that his brother is equally as talented!

Let me know what you think of this poster. Does it capture your imagination? If you had never seen Star Wars before, do you think this poster would entice you enough to see it?

Until tomorrow, stay safe out there my friends and as always, keep creating!

If you like my Star Wars posts, you can check out more of them right here.

And while you’re there, why not consider following me on Twitter, Instagram and right here, on WordPress.

Thanks for your support!

  1. Hi! I think it’s very pleasing on the eye and it captures the drama and action in the story. Personally I love the purple hued poster for film V. I have a book of sci fi film poster art, which contains the Star Wars designs destined for different countries. It’s so interesting to see how the aesthetic is altered. Will look forward to seeing more artwork πŸ™‚

    1. Hi there! I hope you have been well πŸ™‚ And yes, I agree about the art. It is interesting to see how different posters are for different markets. I recall with the last trilogy there was some controversy about particular posters that removed some of the cast like Kelly Marie Tran. It was huge on social media people were even sending death threats to the artist who had absolutely nothing to do with the final image used for marketing. I think with Star Wars fans they are so quick to blame and judge others. That part of the fandom is awful. But yeah, I will be looking out for more art so watch this space πŸ™‚
