With the buzz around the Star Wars fandom at the moment, everyone is wondering about when the next season of the Mandalorian will air. It looks like Jon Favreau confirmed that The Mandalorian will most likely be looking at a 2022 release date after The Book of Boba Fett releases in December of 2021.

It makes total sense that they would do this because they want The Book of Boba Fett to do well and give it some time to make its way through the fandom and the millions of subscribers the series is bound to pull in for Disney Plus.

As reported by IndieWire:

Both seasons of “The Mandalorian” are now streaming on Disney+. According to Favreau, the show’s third season is now in pre-production and will begin filming “The Book of Boba Fett” wraps production. The Boba Fett show is set for release in December 2021, meaning there will not be a new “Mandalorian” season until 2022.

And next year we’ll get to see The Bad Batch dated 2021 and The Book of Boba Fett in December 2021. We don’t yet have dates for any of the other Star Wars Disney Plus/LucasFilm projects announced but hopefully, we’ll get to see something else next year as well since we won’t be getting The Mandalorian 😦
