Hello fellow readers, bloggers and social media lovers! It seems a lot is going on at my end in terms of social media adventures. A lot more is happening than I expected so while I am on a “social media” roll, I am blogging about it as I go which seems like the best thing to do to keep things relevant and timely.

I have seen Linktree around and always wondered what it was. I decided to look up a friend of mine on Instagram because their profile has a linktree URL. I clicked away and found myself at their Linktree website.

What exactly is Linktree?

Linktree is exactly what the name says it is – it’s not misleading in the least, which is why I think it took me this long to investigate it. You can never be too sure these days and some “links” that look legit are anything but and you end up at some sort of scam site or worse. But I assure you, Linktree is totally safe. 😎

I have started my very own Linktree account. Linktree allows you to create as many “links” as you want to all of your online websites, blogs, social media accounts and anything else you want to link back to. Essentially it is a hub for all your links in one easily accessible place. To be honest, I don’t know why I didn’t do this earlier.

It is perfect for anyone with a recognisable “brand” or even a logo that you can use so people can recognise you straightaway. But it’s also for people like you and me who just want somewhere centralised for all of our social media links.

It is pretty amazing. Not only does it allow you to create links to anywhere on the internet but it also provides basic analytics (there I go again with the stats!) that you can use to see how much traffic your linktree profile is receiving.

And the best thing of all is that it is free advertising for all of your social media profiles in one spot! While your blog can also act like a “hub” of sorts by allowing you to add sharing buttons, Linktree is just the easiest way someone can click on one URL and get all of your goodness in one place.

Where can I get access to Linktree?

You can gain access right here on their website. When or if you sign up, you will see two options for Linktree accounts; a free option and a paid option. I thought their paid option was really good at only $9.00 a month, but I opted for the free option first to see how things go. I may or may not upgrade at a later date, but everything you really need to get started is offered in the free option, which is great!

And one extra nice thing is that you can download a QR code for your blog or website, so all people have to do is scan it with their phones and mobile devices and voila! Instant access to your link tree site. That’s pretty cool, right? I am utilising this right now on my blog with a QR code in an obvious spot so people can scan away.

Eventually, I’ll be removing my sharing buttons because my linktree profile kind of makes them redundant. Still, I’ll keep them there for the meantime as some visitors may not want to scan a QR code or may only want to access one of my social media accounts.
