Star Wars Cinematic Universe – Leia’s Birth and Death

I saw this a week ago on IG, and I’ve only just got around to writing about it because I’ve been a little preoccupied with my other blog. But this one is amazing… honestly, it kinda shocked me when I first saw it:

Via the Holocrone on IG

I am sorry, but WHAT THE HELL? I’ve never seen the top image before – maybe it’s in the extended scenes, but I don’t remember seeing that angle where you can see who is watching Padme give birth. Maybe I was so traumatised by that scene that I blocked it out and don’t remember it, but WOW!

I feel so bad for the droids; I really do. Some people treat them like crap when they end up being more loyal than most of their human counterparts in the saga. Because they are droids, they are overlooked and underestimated all the time. And because they’re droids, they don’t have feelings and therefore don’t matter in the grand scheme of things.

WRONG, wrong, wrong. These droids feel EVERYTHING. They may not show it, but you can sense when there’s something bad happening just by listening to the droids, especially R2-D2. He makes a distinct sound that is almost like a deep sigh. He does it during all of these scenes where the humans he serves are experiencing great distress.

This image just blew me away and made me feel so sad for R2-D2. 🥺😢

Sorry for the downer, lol, but I just had to blog about this because it really shocked me, and I wanted to know if anyone else remembers seeing this in the movies?

Stay safe, keep creating, and I’ll catch you all in the comments or in tomorrow’s post!

  1. I’ve seen this meme and thought it was great. It just made me realize how long the droids have been around, how they’ve witnessed so much of the saga, and how loyal they are. But you’re right, I don’t remember that scene in the film with everyone watching Padme give birth. Maybe a cut scene?

    1. If it is I am so happy because it should be on the extended version which I have 🙂 I still haven’t been able to watch these disks and I got them almost a year ago lol but yeah, thanks I thought I was going mad for a second 🤣

  2. Hi Julie, here’s another unusual thing to consider…C-3PO was created/built by Anakin and….Ani was Luke and Leia’s father…so does that make Threepio, Luke and Leia sort of step siblings? Also Artoo is the older droid as he was fully built and operational with Padme as a repair droid on her ship while Threepio was being assembled by Anakin, yet Threepio acts like he’s the older of the two.

    1. Hi there 🙂 well I guess in an abstract kind of way it does. And also, Ani was very protective over the droids, even Artoo. I think Ani considered the droids family even if it wasn’t stated in the films. That doesn’t surprise me about Threepio LOL

  3. Disney stars wars isn’t star wars. It was insulting how the characters people loved for decades were butchered to push a narrative by hacks. There is a reason disney is panicking over trash like the high republic.
