Pick Me Up Friday’s â˜ºï¸ðŸ˜Š

Hello Star Wars friends – it’s another Friday in the “Land Down Under” so here’s the Pick Me Up Friday graphic for today.

I hope you have all had a good week and you’re looking forward to the coming weekend!

HAVE FAITH IN YOURSELF AFFIRMATION
Made by Darkside Creative

So here’s a graphic that has personal meaning for me. I am consistently struggling with “imposter syndrome” in almost everything I do. As a result of that, I have missed opportunities and I have stunted my growth as a creative person. It took me a long time to get out of my comfort zone to a place where I felt okay in my own skin and able to create things not just for myself but for others.

My blogs are a crucial step in that process as they allow me to be creative and express myself AND most importantly, they allow me to give back to my readers, the people that support me and help me through difficult life experiences.

So today’s affirmation is one I try to use as often as possible as I am always fighting with myself to improve and grow as a person. Hopefully, this affirmation can help you out too or at least give you something to think about and or practice if you struggle with self-esteem as I do.

Anyway, thanks for reading friends! As always, I am here in the comments if you need to chat and if not, I shall catch you in the next post! Have a safe weekend and keep creating!

If you like my posts, you can check out more of them right here.

      1. A little, being away so many hours in the new job isn’t helping. It needs 2 to make it work and it feels a little unbalanced. I’m having to adjust in so many areas currently. Don’t recognize myself at times.

      2. You can only do what you can do 🙂 As long as you’re doing your bit, there isn’t much else you can do outside of that. I try to remember to focus on the things I can control and let go of the things I can’t. That is much harder to do than say but I think it’s easier if you focus as much as you can on your well being 🙂 I do hope things get better for you soon my friend.

  1. Hi Julie, ever since I won a lightsaber design contest on a forum, and after setting up my blog I have slowly built up my confidence and have found myself branching out into avenues I never imagined I’d be going down. I have created artwork for friends to use as desktop wallpapers, avatar images and FB/YouTube banners along with my designs. And due to my improved attitude to myself I may have a bit of an exclusive for May the Fourth which I never thought I would have on my site.
But maybe some of the biggest happenings I’ve experienced was when my work was recognised by one of the greatest replica lightaber builders on the planet named Rob Petkau….and secondly I was at a Comic Con when I met the gentleman that built the black and silver R2 droid seen in SOLO and he had seen my lightsaber I designed based on it on my site and knew who I was! All through PMA…Positive Mental Attitude! and maybe the Force 😎

  2. This is definitely something I’ve been working on too, Julie. Having faith in myself, believing that I can achieve the goals I set for myself, getting out of my comfort zone, and just ignoring imposter syndrome are all challenges I’ve been trying to overcome. Thanks for the reminder, and have a great weekend!

    1. Hey Tina 😀 No worries and you’re welcome 🙂 I am so happy to see that yesterday’s post allowed my friends to share their experiences 🙂 It’s nice to know that there are many people that share the same struggles I have, makes me feel less alone in mine. I mean I don’t want people to struggle but it’s just comforting knowing I am not standing on an island by myself and that people can relate 🙂
