Okay HERE’S a funny Star Wars Merchandise thingy I Must Share πŸ€£πŸ˜…πŸ˜†

Hello, dearest Star Wars friends and readers! Yes, it has been a few days since my last update, but there is an excellent reason for that, which relates to one of my other blogs. I am finally getting my A into G and starting a “side hustle” – one that I know I can do and hopefully, will eventually grow enough for me to leave my day job πŸ™‚ But I am taking little steps, including going back to my roots (reviewing books and media, which seems to be in my blood, lol) and seeing how things progress.

But enough of that stuff, onto the Star Wars funny thing I will tell you all. I did this at the risk of being ridiculed because, apparently, I like to be laughed at by my friends. πŸ€£πŸ˜…πŸ˜†

So I discussed this with one of my friends, who is honestly the BIGGEST Marvel fan I’ve ever met, and she also sometimes likes Star Wars. So we got to talking about fandoms and merchandise, and she was like, “you should check out that item on this website because it’s way cheaper than Amazon”. And then I realised it was almost 100 bucks cheaper to buy from Sideshow Collectibles than from Amazon (including tax and postage fees). I was like, “WHAT THE HECK!” that is a lot of money to take from people buying your stuff. I mean, 20 or 30 bucks is nothing really but 100 bucks more expensive? That is daylight robbery, lol.

So this is the item, and I really loved it SO MUCH when I saw it:

I mean, LOOK HOW GORGEOUS this is! It is made by the famous Kotobukiya team, who are renowned for their figures because they are always so beautifully detailed. You can see just how detailed this one is! And I, of course, fell in love with it and was like BUY lol before my friend told me about the price on Amazon.

So I eventually bought it from Sideshow Collectibles, and now I have it, but this is the thing – IT’S not a figure. LOL, it’s a figure set that you have to put together! Thank goodness it’s pre-painted because otherwise, I’d be in serious doo-doo and unable to do anything with it.

The lesson learned: Always read the fine print before you buy something πŸ€£πŸ˜…πŸ˜†

But I still have it, and my partner said he can put it together for me, so I am so excited lol because it’s amazinggggggg! And the price was reasonable as well. It will also be my first EVER Kotobukiya collectible, so I am super stoked!

What do you think? Any thoughts, my friends? Feel free to laugh and poke fun – I CAN TAKE IT πŸ€£πŸ˜…πŸ˜† Nah, seriously, do you like this item?

Let me know if you’ve bought any merchandise lately, what you bought and what you think of my purchase in the comments, and I’ll catch you there!

Love you guys!

  1. Hi Julie, Sideshow Collectibles have some amazing pieces on offer. A lot of members of the lightsaber forum I post on buy SC figurines and they are works of art. I believe that one member just recently got the Obi-Wan and Anakin figures with Clone War armour.
But don’t worry your Anakin shouldn’t be too difficult to assemble – but it reminds me of the C-3PO scale model kit that my dad and I built back around 1983. It was an MPC 1:8 scale Threepio and it was a nightmare. Threepio was fully articulated so you had to assemble all the joints so they worked and were poseable, It took forever….then I had Artoo to build as well…articulated legs, dome, panel doors with extending tools and arms…..that model took even longer. At least with Threepio if the build had gotten too much we could have just put his parts into a mesh bag and say the model depicted 3PO after his accident on Bespin City!
Here’s a link to an article about the C-3PO model:

Hope we see pictures of “Anakin…Assembled” 😊

    1. Hey FT πŸ™‚ Yeah I know of the Anakin and Obi-Wan figures, pretty sure they’re new but too much for me at this point – they work out to around 500 NZD each lol too expensive I’d feel so guilty if I spent that much money on two figures lol but yeah, for as long as I can remember collecting figures, SC are really well-known for having quality products which is why I am excited about my little purchase πŸ™‚
