Personal Update – Ugh :(

So to carry on from my last post about the long weekend, well, I did have a hectic long weekend that ended up with me having one of the worst migraine’s I’ve had in a long time. I sometimes get horrible migraine attacks where a migraine will disappear then return twice as bad as before. In the middle of that, I then had a tension headache which was even more painful, so as you can imagine, IT sucked 😰😧

To top off my awesome weekend, I went to the GP yesterday and was tested for hypertension (high blood pressure), and my doctor is now monitoring my blood pressure to make sure I don’t become really unwell. If you have high blood pressure, it can lead to strokes, heart attacks and death if not kept in check. There could be many reasons why my blood pressure measured unusually high as stress can trigger it (quite a few things can raise your blood pressure sometimes without you even realising, such as coffee, any drinks with caffeine in them, smoking, to name a couple). Hopefully, my blood pressure will be lower the next time I get checked by my GP…

So I am at home today when I should have returned to work feeling a little worried and concerned. The good news is that I can totally turn this around with help and advice from my doctor, which I totally intend to do!

I am about to do something very relaxing and not think about anything but taking it easy for now and chilling out. I will update you all on how things go once I’ve been back to my doctor for my next check up.

I hope you all had a much better weekend than I did (not that hard, lol), and I look forward to reading your updates! Hit me up in the comments, friends!

  1. Hi Julie, wow you’ve done it again…everything hitting you at the same time. But health comes first so I’m glad you went and got checked out. I don’t suffer headaches myself (well not actual physiological ones) but I do suffer a skin complaint for which I have to take oral Chemotherapy tablets every week so I can relate that way. Chemo is brutal, even in low dosages as it builds up over time and when I get a bad batch of tablets that are marginally stronger the after effects are worse. Oh but here is a sneak peek of what I have coming up on my blog which might cheer you up…I mentioned a Bad Batch? Well that’s a bit of a hint……take things easy but keep tuned!

      1. HI again, don’t worry – my health has been terrible over the years. I inherited a really messed up gene pool from my ancestors. I’ve been on Chemo for around 15 years so I’m used to it but now and then I get a box of tablets that are stronger than stated and the fun begins. It all began when I had a Lymphoma in my neck and whilst I had full blown Chemo at hospital my skin complaint improved and my nurse commented “Hasn’t your Dermatologist suggested Chemo for your skin?” So I raised the idea to my skin doctor, who was A) surprised I knew about the treatment and B) wasn’t happy about prescribing it – but I was on full chemo anyway for my Lymphoma so where was the extra risk?
Anyhoo enough medical malady stories from me….I’ll just let you know I have FIVE new sabers on the way…all nice and rendered ready for the next month’s content and I think they’ll be a Good Batch!πŸ˜‰

      2. Hi again, there is a small positive to my condition. Long ago .I started to write my own Star Wars backstory fanfic and in it For Tyeth was injured in battle when a laser bolt shattered a rock next to him and showered him with sparks of Cortosis. As a result he received burns and developed patches of sore skin, which I called Cortosis Poisoning. So I explain my appearance that way in case anyone sees my real affliction. So I cope with it but thanks for the kind concern.
