SWCU – The Book of Boba Fett S01 Episode 07 Review

🛑‼️THIS REVIEW IS NOT SPOILER-FREE. PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS🛑‼️

EPISODE SEVEN

Welcome fellow Star Wars fans to the final review for this season of The Book of Boba Fett! This season went by so quickly I almost didn’t realise it was already the end of it. Overall, the season was entertaining, but it could have been stronger in some episodes. I don’t think it’s wise to compare Boba Fett’s show to The Mandalorian, which I’ve seen many fans do. I believe The Book of Boba Fett is good enough to stand on its own.

In terms of the episode, it seems we did get some closure for Boba and a pleasant surprise at the end regarding Cobb Vanth. I was surprised to see the story end for Cad Bane, though! I never thought they would take him out of the story as soon as they did, but it does make sense. Cad Bane was really a means to an end for the Pyke syndicate and not much else beyond it. I LOVED the showdown between him and Boba, though! It was exactly as I imagined it would be – VERY close.

People have commented about the amount of time Boba had in his own show. Yes, the story was being told outside of Boba’s storyline to include Mando, Grogu, Luke, Ahsoka and others. And if I had to comment directly on that, I would say that Ahsoka probably didn’t have to be in it. Other than that, Mando and Boba Fett crossing paths were always going to happen.

And even Cobb Vanth showing up was inevitable given that he and Boba are on the same planet. I loved the Rancor addition to Boba’s story, and the way Boba came to the rescue was great! After all, it is HIS show, so I was happy about that.

Grogu and Luke probably didn’t need to be featured as part of Boba’s story, but I really don’t get why people are all “, but it’s Boba’s show”. The final episode was an excellent way to wrap up the season regardless of how the story was told.

Going back a bit further to the rest of Boba’s story, I really enjoyed what the writers did with Boba. They added depth to his character that otherwise wouldn’t have been there. It makes absolute sense that Boba would change as a person. He’s experienced a lot, he’s met new people, he’s come back from the dead basically! The fans just need to give Boba Fett a break!

Even the Scooby gang on their speeders wasn’t as bad as everyone thought. I mean, I am not going to say I liked them because, again, I felt they were a little superfluous to the story being told. But it is what it is. Hopefully, we can embrace it and move on without causing too much more derision in the fandom (seriously, there is so much of it these days).

One of the highlights of the entire season was the team-up between Mando and Boba Fett. It was amazing! This whole scene reinforced in my mind exactly why The Book of Boba Fett was so good! Mando was returning the favour when Boba showed up in his show last season, and it was filmed so well!

I will end things on a high note and say that while there were some things that not every fan could agree on, overall, the show was entertaining. Was it entertaining enough to get a second season? I am not going to predict that, but all I can say is my fingers are crossed 😁🤞

So that’s it from me for another episode – please tell me what you thought and loved about this episode! I will be in the comments as always. MTFBWY!

  1. I thought the finale was pretty good, with some great action and decent wrap-up. Overall, I liked the series. Not sure if we need a season two, but I’d be happy either way. I think he’s going to be a big part of the Mandoverse going forward.

    1. So I just read that the final episode of The Book of Boba Fett had more viewers than The Mandalorian finale. 35% more as reported by Deadline (a very reputable online media outlet). That tells me something which is a lot of Star Wars fans don’t know what they’re talking about when they say Boba Fett was bad lol. I just don’t want to listen to fans any more when it comes to canon content. They give our fandom a bad name 😦 I liked TBoBF and if it doesn’t get another season, so be it.

      1. Some of the fandom is frustrating, that’s for sure. I have one group on Facebook that I’m involved in, and negativity about Star Wars is NOT allowed. They’re pretty strict about it, lol. But it makes it a much more pleasant place to talk about SW. There ARE people out there who love everything about it.

      2. Oh yeah, I sometimes connect with some on IG and for the most part, the majority of them are quite civil. I’ve learned to avoid the negativity which came from years of running a forum for another fandom years ago. You soon learn to get tougher skin when people target you or just ban them/ignore them lol for some people that’s the only way to treat them unfortunately 😦
