Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker Allegiance Kylo Ren Animation

I’ve been looking through the latest star wars comics and as you know, creating animated comic covers and comic art is kind of my thing. So I saw this image of Kylo Ren and really wanted to animate it so here it is – plus I promised to upload more content. I did this one today. What do you think?

Original Image – Art by Luke Ross

… and the animated art:

I’ve also started watermarking the stuff I edit and animate because too many people are taking my edited images from Pinterest or this website and reposting as their own. So unless they’re wizards in Photoshop, they’re not getting this image without a watermark any time soon… 😅

Darth Vader Marvel Comic 025 Animated Variant Cover

One of my favourite things to do is animate Star Wars art but animating comic covers is particularly fun. Especially when there are so many good covers out there to animate. I haven’t animated anything in some time, and I did take a bit of a break after my little meltdown but now I am back and rearing to go.

Here’s an edit I did of this cover by Joe Quesada:

THE LAST trailer for the Skywalker Saga has dropped!

Yes, people. It is with a sad and heavy heart that I say these words but the final trailer for the Skywalker Saga is now doing the rounds on social media. I’ve been frantically trying to make edits to get them up as soon as possible because THIS trailer is absolutely magnificent.

You will be able to see if you visit my blog that I’ve also added some of the new trailer footage of Kylo Ren to my blog and what a beautiful GIF it is! I have waited so patiently for this moment and now it is here and I don’t really know how I feel about it.

I was so excited today to buy my tickets (I got the best seats and managed to buy tickets for two sessions!) and I was so nervous for the new trailer but now that I am home and I am able to reflect upon it, I feel an overwhelming sense of melancholy knowing there will never be another trailer for the Skywalker saga ever again.

I am going to think a bit more about this and I’ll probably be blogging quite a fair bit about the new content and hopefully, time permitting, I’ll be able to make some nice edits as well.

For now, I have made two, one I edited for my blog and the other is just as magnificent – Kylo Ren emerging from the ocean spray as if he materialized from the sea itself! This movie looks like one of the most beautiful Star Wars films and I just can’t wait to celebrate it with you all!

Star Wars tickets are going on sale SOON!

The big news all Star Wars fans are excited for is that tickets have been confirmed to go on sale for TRoS on Monday the 21st after the trailer drops. For me, that’ll be around 2PM on a Tuesday, so I’ll be at work with my hand on the mouse waiting to book my tickets. Assuming I don’t lose my mind first over the trailer and get all emotional at work… that won’t be good 😆🤣

But seriously, it is a time to feel a little down for Star Wars fans as tomorrow’s trailer will be the last one we will ever see for the Skywalker Saga.

Anyway, here’s a two edits I did, one was split into two separate images and I created the whole image which I think looks better – art by @echoart_hun on Instagram. Isn’t this magnificent?

And an animation of an art piece that I’m not sure of, it looks like Eli Hyder’s work but maybe not:

Just a quick edit of my last poem

I have some spare time before I jog off to work, so I started making this image edit and then it kind of evolved into this edit with the poem I wrote the other day, and now it has become this:

Spooner Graphics Photoshop Tutorial Review – How To Create a Letterpress Style Poster with Overprint Effects

Coming back to my one and only Photoshop – I haven’t really had time to sit down and work through a decent photoshop tutorial for some time, so one of my goals is to get back to doing an edit a day. Photoshop Tutorials can be time consuming though, depending on what you’re making or learning.

This particular tutorial is by Chris Spooner, and his website is a particular favourite of mine for learning Graphic Design techniques and for great design assets. He also regularly updates his blog with unique discounted assets for designers from websites he frequently uses so you know you’re getting quality content for a fraction of the price.

My focus has slowly turned more and more to designing posters and working with typography. I really liked the look of this poster, so I learned how to make it via Chris’ YouTube channel:

And here’s the finished product. I was quite happy with the result:

Comment: Chris is an excellent tutor, although he does seem to work pretty quickly, so you might have to do a bit of pausing to keep up with him. His tutorials are well made and easily understood, and a huge bonus is that he provides most of the assets you need to make what you’re creating in the tutorial. Like most designers, Chris also uses a lot of stock images which are not always free, unfortunately. You can probably find replacement assets for free online if you know where to look (various websites like Pixabay and Pixelbuddha usually have what you’ll need
