Star Wars Cinematic Universe – Who Is the Most Tragic?

I asked this same question on Instagram to varying responses (as expected) but a few surprising ones also. Now I am in no way saying that these characters have THE most tragic stories in Star Wars. This is simply a selection of characters I’ve chosen for this particular quiz.

I wanted to include as many characters from all three parts of the Skywalker saga because that’s only fair. R2-D2 is the only character to live through the OT, prequels and sequels. So if you think time is a good indicator of how tragic a lifetime can be, he’s probably right up there.

Let me know who you choose and why – the why is very important here. Also, people hardly ever mention the droids or Boba Fett but if you recall, Boba’s life was pretty tragic from day one I mean imagine finding out that you’re a clone of your father and your DNA was used to create a clone army that eventually killed almost every living Jedi. There are some pretty tragic stories here.

My choice (and it was a hard one) is Anakin for reasons I am happy to reveal (but most people already know) in the comments 😅

Talk to you soon in the comments OR in my next post!

What Scene Do You Think Is the Most Iconic in Star Wars?

There are many scenes in the galaxy far, far away that we could consider iconic and even magical. And with such an expansive universe, it would be hard to choose just one. But that’s precisely what I’m going to make you all do, my Star Wars friends.

If you had to choose only ONE scene from the Star Wars cinematic universe (that includes the TV shows as well), which one would you choose out of all the unique content we’ve seen? Is it difficult to do? It should be as there are so many scenes that captured the hearts and minds of fans worldwide.

Is this the most iconic scene in Star Wars?

Take your time with this one, and reply when you’re ready. But for fun, I wondered if you could pick which Star Wars show or movie mine would come from?

Hit me up in the comments, my friends, and let’s begin our friendly discussion on the most iconic scene in Star Wars chosen by us 😃😄👌

Star Wars Cinematic Universe – Episode X, XI and XII Rumours and a LEGO Series!

Hi all! Welcome back to another post from yours truly about that universe we LOVE with all our hearts – a galaxy far, far away! So today I was on Twitter (a really good place to keep up to date with Star Wars content, rumours etc) and I saw a post where someone was talking about “Ren being played by Christian Slater”. I was confused – what did they mean by this? Are they talking about Kylo Ren I mean who else could it be?

Turns out, there is going to be a LEGO movie about the Kylo Ren comics and Christian Slater is going to be voicing the character of Ren. If you’ve read the comics, you should know who Ren is. Ren IS NOT Kylo Ren. Ren is this guy:

Why hello there…

And the show is going to be a LEGO show featuring Darth Vader’s castle on Mustafar and a whole lot of other stuff as well. Here’s the trailer:

So that’s that 😂 and not sure if you can guess but LEGO Star Wars isn’t my thing. I have never really been a fan and I’d only watch this if I had nothing else to watch (which is impossible because I always have something to watch!)

The Episode X, XI and XII rumours

I’ve mentioned these two YouTube channels before – Mike Zeroh and Star Wars Theory and I’ve mostly steered clear because I think their rumour videos are not all that entertaining and I don’t like listening to click bait content. But today I visited both channels to catch up on the latest rumours about George Lucas coming back to produce/create Episodes X, XI and XII with Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.

THIS INFORMATION IS NOTHING BUT RUMOUR AT THIS STAGE!

I just wanted to be sure anyone reading this understands that I do not endorse fake news or click bait content but there was something different about this rumour. It seemed a little odd that both channels would be reporting on this at the same time. I’ve never actually seen that before. I know that Mike Zeroh has a poor reputation in the Star Wars fandom for being sensationalist and fake with his news. Star Wars Theory seems to be better in that regard but I fail to see how that type of content is bringing value to the fandom.

Today they both had interesting things to say about the “new” Skywalker trilogy rumour. Now I have to say that I’ve heard about these rumours for a long time now. The original rumour started ages ago and I just ignored it then. What Star Wars Theory and his buddy are saying is that they do NOT want the sequel trilogy to be the end of the Skywalker Saga. They are happy to see three new movies made by George, Jon and Dave completely ignoring the three movies that went before.

Who is trying to retcon me???

The sequel trilogy gave us Kylo Ren and then Ben Solo – two characters that the fandom really supports so I don’t know how three new movies overwriting the sequel trilogy will deal with Ben and Kylo Ren. All I know is that if they erase the sequels, they are erasing all the hard work that Adam Driver put into those characters and that would annoy the crap out of me to be honest.

Mike Zeroh also referred to huge news being revealed at Disney’s investor group day. Disney has officially set November 12, 2021, as Disney+ Day. Last year this was a huge day for Star Wars fans with the announcements that rocked the fandom such as the Kenobi series. So Mike Zeroh is not wrong when he says that there is bound to be a few things revealed that the fandom doesn’t expect or know about.

At the end of the day it is what it is. I prefer to take the information I get from anyone with a grain of salt. There are many sources online that call themselves “legit” sources for Star Wars information but I haven’t found one yet that has been correct about every rumour no matter how “legit” they claim to be.

Let me know what you think about these rumours and anything Star Wars related and we can chat about it in the comments!

Stay safe out there my friends and May The Force Be With You ☺️😊

Star Wars Cinematic Universe – The Music of Star Wars #1

This is one of my many draft posts that I never quite got around to updating until now which did link into a different post but I’ve decided to separate them. So I went down a little bit of a rabbit hole and found all of this awesome star wars music, some of it alternate versions of songs on the original soundtracks.

So I think I might start showcasing some of the alternate music made for Star Wars on my blog because I think that’ll be really fun to do and to share with my readers.

Via YouTube

And I decided to start with this one which is an edited version of Funeral Pyre For A Jedi except this YouTuber put together both versions. I didn’t even know this was an actual song because it sounds like Luke’s theme to me except with small variations (like different instrumental pieces added).

When you play them straight after each other, it’s so different and it really does have a different “feel” to the music just like the dude says at the end of the clip. What did you think of this clip?

What is your favourite piece of Star Wars music? Have you found anything special online that you think we might enjoy? If so, hit me up in the comments section and I’ll check it out!

Stay safe, keep creating, and I’ll catch you all in the comments or in my next post!

Star Wars Cinematic Universe – Did Rey Become a Jedi Master?

At the end of Star Wars, The Rise of Skywalker, Rey is seen with her new lightsaber. She can also see both Luke and Leia as force ghosts.

I came across this post online as I was reading through updates on WordPress, and this triggered me a little (not gonna lie, probably more than a little) 😅

Following the Battle of Exegol in 35 ABY, Rey took up the family name of her mentors Luke and Leia Skywalker. Now the last Jedi, Rey Skywalker ascended to the rank of Master.

STAR WARS LATINAMERICA

The thing is, anybody can post a blog article and rant about what they think is happening in the Star Wars universe, but that doesn’t make any of it fact or canon, for that matter. However, there are many debates over what is and isn’t canon, so I try to stay away from all that. But this post got me thinking – are there fans out there that actually think Rey is a Jedi Master?

Was Rey even “The Last Jedi?” Technically, yes, Rey was the last Jedi because when Ben Solo became Ben Solo again, he had reverted back to being a Jedi but then died by sacrificing himself to save Rey. So at that point, Rey was the very last Jedi that we know of in the cinematic universe. I’d go so far as to say that she was probably the last Jedi we know of in canon as well. But a Jedi Master?

Let’s see what the sources online have to say about Rey’s status as a Jedi Master.

Taken from the Wookiepedia resource on Rey:

At some point after, while attempting to restore galactic peace, Rey became a Jedi Master.[52]

Wookiepedia

This is listed in The Star Wars Book by Pablo Hidalgo (referred to in the Wookiepedia article). According to this reference, Rey became a Jedi Master. But is that canon?

If it is, I don’t agree with it for a couple of reasons. First, to become a Jedi Master, you have to take on a Padawan. If there were no other remnants of the Jedi Order (seeing as Rey was the last Jedi), how did this happen? Did Rey just take the title herself? And we won’t even talk about the Jedi High Council in this debate.

Secondly – Anakin Skywalker considered one of the strongest Jedi of all time, never made it to Jedi Master. How could Rey do something that Anakin couldn’t, given their age and years of experience? Anakin was trained from a very early age. Rey only discovered the force when she was in her late teens. None of that makes any sense.

To be honest, all of those so-called “sources” online are edited by people, just normal Star Wars fans like you and me. It is the same with Wikipedia (so many people, including myself, seem to forget it’s not really a legitimate source of information in that regard). That’s not to say that I am not grateful because I am. It takes a lot of effort and time to maintain a database of that size, and the fandom would be less of a fandom without it.

Art by Steve Anderson – Animated by Darkside Creative

It is important to note that this post has absolutely nothing to do with Rey not being as powerful as other Jedi or any of that garbage because she’s a woman. Frankly, anyone that thinks that or even entertains that garbage can just go right along and unfollow me because that is misogynistic and has no place here or anywhere, to be honest. Just wanted to make that clear, now moving on.

I couldn’t find a reliable source that confirms The Star Was Book as canon, and several sources online debate it, so I’m going to say no at this point until proven otherwise (Wookiepedia says it is but again, refer to my details above about Wookiepedia as a source).

It is possible that Rey did other things not shown in the cinematic universe, such as founding the new Jedi Order (again, nothing confirms this online). I can imagine many fans would not be happy about that, considering Luke tried to do this in the Legends books, which isn’t considered canon according to Wookiepedia.

I know that Pablo Hidalgo is part of the Lucas Film Story Group, and therefore whatever he writes is considered canon. But I’m still not convinced.

What do you think about Rey being a Jedi Master? Agree or disagree? Why or why not? Let me know in the comments, friends!
