SWCU – The Book of Boba Fett S01 Episode 07 Review

🛑‼️THIS REVIEW IS NOT SPOILER-FREE. PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS🛑‼️

EPISODE SEVEN

Welcome fellow Star Wars fans to the final review for this season of The Book of Boba Fett! This season went by so quickly I almost didn’t realise it was already the end of it. Overall, the season was entertaining, but it could have been stronger in some episodes. I don’t think it’s wise to compare Boba Fett’s show to The Mandalorian, which I’ve seen many fans do. I believe The Book of Boba Fett is good enough to stand on its own.

In terms of the episode, it seems we did get some closure for Boba and a pleasant surprise at the end regarding Cobb Vanth. I was surprised to see the story end for Cad Bane, though! I never thought they would take him out of the story as soon as they did, but it does make sense. Cad Bane was really a means to an end for the Pyke syndicate and not much else beyond it. I LOVED the showdown between him and Boba, though! It was exactly as I imagined it would be – VERY close.

TBOBF S01 EPISODE 7

VIA LoreFreak on YouTube

People have commented about the amount of time Boba had in his own show. Yes, the story was being told outside of Boba’s storyline to include Mando, Grogu, Luke, Ahsoka and others. And if I had to comment directly on that, I would say that Ahsoka probably didn’t have to be in it. Other than that, Mando and Boba Fett crossing paths were always going to happen.

And even Cobb Vanth showing up was inevitable given that he and Boba are on the same planet. I loved the Rancor addition to Boba’s story, and the way Boba came to the rescue was great! After all, it is HIS show, so I was happy about that.

Grogu and Luke probably didn’t need to be featured as part of Boba’s story, but I really don’t get why people are all “, but it’s Boba’s show”. The final episode was an excellent way to wrap up the season regardless of how the story was told.

Going back a bit further to the rest of Boba’s story, I really enjoyed what the writers did with Boba. They added depth to his character that otherwise wouldn’t have been there. It makes absolute sense that Boba would change as a person. He’s experienced a lot, he’s met new people, he’s come back from the dead basically! The fans just need to give Boba Fett a break!

VIA LoreFreak on YouTube

Even the Scooby gang on their speeders wasn’t as bad as everyone thought. I mean, I am not going to say I liked them because, again, I felt they were a little superfluous to the story being told. But it is what it is. Hopefully, we can embrace it and move on without causing too much more derision in the fandom (seriously, there is so much of it these days).

One of the highlights of the entire season was the team-up between Mando and Boba Fett. It was amazing! This whole scene reinforced in my mind exactly why The Book of Boba Fett was so good! Mando was returning the favour when Boba showed up in his show last season, and it was filmed so well!

I will end things on a high note and say that while there were some things that not every fan could agree on, overall, the show was entertaining. Was it entertaining enough to get a second season? I am not going to predict that, but all I can say is my fingers are crossed 😁🤞

So that’s it from me for another episode – please tell me what you thought and loved about this episode! I will be in the comments as always. MTFBWY!

SWCU – Obi-Wan Kenobi Series Gets Release Date for Disney+!

HELLO, my lovely Star Wars friends! I hope your week is going well! If it’s not, it’s bound to very soon ☺️😊

Disney has just announced the release date for the highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series via multiple media outlets. Disney Plus will be featuring the show, which will be released on May 25th this year! The fandom rumour-mill had the Kenobi show slated for a possible May 4th release. Everyone knows what May 4th is, so it makes sense that Star Wars day would be the day. But alas, no! We get to wait another three weeks for the Obi-Wan Kenobi Series premiere.

Most of the primary cast members have already been confirmed. Hayden Christensen will be reprising his role of Darth Vader made famous in George Lucas’ prequel trilogy film, Revenge of the Sith.

We’ve been waiting a while now for the Kenobi show since it was officially revealed. Apparently, Ewan McGregor has known for years that the series was planned to be made! Imagine hiding something for that long!

Now go forth, my fellow Star Wars friends and share this with anyone you know that loves Star Wars!

SWCU – The Book of Boba Fett S01 Episode 06 Review

🛑‼️THIS REVIEW IS NOT SPOILER-FREE. PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS🛑‼️

EPISODE SIX

Welcome fellow Star Wars fans to another update/review and discussion. I say discussion because there is something I wanted to discuss regarding the latest episode separately. I am keen to see what my readers think because my Instagram readers are all a mixed bag of views on this.

So here’s the question which you can think about while I pick apart episode six of The Book of Boba Fett. The question is (only for those that have seen it obviously) “Do you think the latest episode was purely fan-service or do you think it was genuinely entertaining?”

On with the review – so there will be spoilers (if you managed to not read my spoiler banner above, you should click away right about now). I went into this episode completely unaware of who would be in it. I had a feeling already that Grogu might reappear because of The Mandalorian’s path heading right back to him again. This means that Luke Skywalker could also appear. But there were two other characters that were also very exciting to see which I didn’t know about being Ahsoka Tano and Cad Bane.

LUKE SKYWALKER PADAWAN TO MASTER VIA BINGEWATCHTHIS_ on Twitter

Some fans are criticising this episode saying the script was seriously lacking and relying on “fan service” to appeal to the fandom. Did we need to see Luke Skywalker for this story to progress? Absolutely! I believe Luke being who he is (and his importance), it’s inevitable that the story of Boba Fett AND Din Djarin would include him. Luke is on the precipice of creating the Jedi Academy which was or is a huge deal in Legends lore. I am not sure where they’ll go with Luke’s story. But the fact that he’s in this show is a good indication of where Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau (and the other writers) might be going with Boba Fett and even Mando’s storylines.

Boba Fett may not be in every episode of his show but that doesn’t mean it’s not his story. I understand why some fans are a little unhappy about all of these huge Star Wars characters appearing in his show. But perhaps there is a good reason for it? I think as an audience we need to have a little more faith in the creators and their processes. When I read comments about this episode I see fans calling out the series as not being about Boba Fett at all. And I understand that too. But I am going to push those comments aside and focus on what may lie ahead; kinda like Luke does 😄😃 And I find that to be really exciting!

“All his life has he looked away… to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was.”

We also see other minor characters reappearing like Cobb Vanff who has quickly become a fan favourite. Timothy Olyphant does a fantastic job as the “western” Sheriff looking after his people in the middle of the dune sea. What happens to him is HUGE as well but nobody even talked about that😅. Everyone focused on the lack of Boba Fett and the other characters showing up.

Did anyone even care about Cad Bane?? He’s only one of the most skilled bounty hunters in the Star Wars universe!

It’s not silly for the writers to want Luke, Mando and Boba all in the same show. This is completely new territory for the creators and writers. Nobody really knows what happened after the years that followed the Rebellion in Ep 06. There is a huge amount of time after Vader’s death and the new Jedi order being created by Luke. They are merely trying to write the best story that cohesively joins all of the main characters of their shows together.

My final comments are really nothing more than advice if anyone wants to take it. And that is if you’re dead-set as fans to dislike where Boba’s story is going, you’re probably not going to like what happens next. From what I’ve read, Boba’s story was only ever meant to be one standalone season. And could explain why they’ve got so many other characters involved.

So that’s it from me for another episode – please tell me what you thought and loved about this episode! I will be in the comments as always. MTFBWY! Have a good weekend 😄😃

SWCU – The Book of Boba Fett S01 Episode 5 Review

🛑‼️THIS REVIEW IS NOT SPOILER-FREE. PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS🛑‼️

EPISODE FIVE

OMG, WOW, WHAT AN EPISODE!!!!! SO this week’s episode is directed by none other than Bryce Dallas-Howard herself! AND THIS IS THE WHOLE FANDOM RIGHT NOW:

LOL, this is totally us right now after that fantastic episode! IMAGE CREDIT DISNEY/LUCASFILM

And I dunno about you, but I felt something VERY different about this episode from the minute THIS HAPPENED:

FANS are really hyped about this one for so many reasons. I mean, it’s hard to even define because it was SO good! But I’m going to do my best to talk about the best parts of this episode without spoiling it TOO much (there will be spoilers as warned above, so stop reading now if you don’t want them!)

I am not gonna lie. I had to remind myself that this wasn’t The Mandalorian Season 3, lol! Because it certainly felt that way – I mean Pedro Pascal is AMAZING as Din Djarin, and I am not saying better than Boba Fett! They are very different parts of the Star Wars story, and I choose to say nothing more about that. But fans are speculating madly about where this season will go, and WE have to talk about the possibilities because OMG, super exciting!

The episode is called “RETURN OF THE MANDALORIAN”, so it’s a no-brainer what this episode is focused on. But wow, we got so much goodness from this episode – the tie-in with Boba Fett is going to be huge! Also so many references to historical events in the Mandalorian timeline; it was just such a special episode because of that. AND we get to see PAZ VIZSLA and the return of the DARK SABER!! I was going a little insane with that scene between Paz Vizsla AND Mando. I mean, who would have thought those two would end up DUELING EACH other for the sabre?? We are getting so spoiled with this show now, I swear!

ISN’T IT JUST BEAUTIFUL – the sabre, I mean LOL, but Din is pretty lovely too 😛

NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL PODRACING!!! Oh MY gosh, that whole scene taking us back to Tatooine and to Anakin’s podracing competition in a NABOO STARSHIP!! Seriously, guys, Star Wars doesn’t get much better than this right now. IT is honestly so great I could gush about it for hours. And then, seeing Din Djarin using the starship and going through the canyon – I almost lost my mind. I was so giddy with happiness lol 😁😆

And according to Ming-Na Wen, we ain’t seen nothing yet! I mean, she said we’d think very differently about TBOBF after it finishes. So I CANNOT WAIT to see what they bring us next. Over on Reddit, they make predictions about what will happen next. And they talk about rumours and speculation. And out of all of the stuff I’ve read this week, the best one is that Han will show up with a very young Ben Solo as a cameo. It’s either that OR obviously, Luke and Grogu will appear, and Grogu might even have his own Padawan outfit! Can you imagine how many toys will sell when that happens 😁😆 (and how many I’m going to buy lol).

So that’s it from me for another episode – please tell me what you thought and loved about this episode and anything else that takes your fancy! I will be in the comments as always wielding that dark sabre (lol, I wish!)

SWCU – The Book of Boba Fett S01 Episodes 3 – 4 Reviewed

🛑‼️THIS REVIEW IS NOT SPOILER-FREE. PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS🛑‼️

I just watched episode four, so this will be a combination review of episodes three and four.

EPISODE THREE

Let’s start with episode three! It was not the best episode because it was slower than the others, but it was also really emotional. Our man Boba has really changed since his bounty hunter days. I am guessing the time he spent in the Sarlacc pit really affected him because he has definitely gone a little soft. I am not saying this is a bad thing – on the contrary! Boba Fett (at least in this iteration) is a much more well-rounded person than he ever was in the OT. It’s almost like seeing a different person because they (the writers) gave him feelings.

IMAGE VIA IMDB / DISNEY / LUCASFILM

The fandom seems to be really split on these new developments in Boba Fett’s personality. Some fans are happy about it because it shows a different side to Boba. And some are hating on these changes (visit the “Saltier Than Crait” subreddit, and you’ll see what I mean).

I’m all for it because I like to see characters fleshed out and connecting with their inner selves. I don’t expect Boba to start running around the dunes of Tatooine shouting to the sky like a crazy man or anything. But I think this whole change in his character caught me (and a lot of other fans) off guard a bit. And I think I like that. It shows the writers are willing to take any character to new heights (or lows, depending on your point of view). Plus, it gives Temuera Morrison room to grow into the character on a whole new level.

I still don’t know how I feel about the “Bubblegum gang”, otherwise known as the speeder gang that Boba hired. I don’t think they’re all that bad, but they’re definitely not my cuppa tea in a story like this. That said, though, who’s to say where this story will go? We’re all along for the ride, are we not?

IMAGE VIA IMDB / DISNEY / LUCASFILM

And finally, DANNY F’N TREJO??!!! His cameo really helped dial the notch up in the action department, mainly when he delivered Boba a new Rancor for his palace – I mean, DUDES, it’s a bloody Rancor!! That’s a big deal, man, and I mean HUGE (considering Luke Skywalker killed the last one and all that). It’s pulling on the nostalgia quite a fair bit, but again, I like that.

EPISODE FOUR

And that brings us to episode four which was a lot more action-packed than the previous two, in my opinion. We get to see more flashbacks of Boba’s past, including how he picked up Fennec Shand. I enjoyed that segment because I like to fill in the gaps in stories. And Boba has some huge holes to fill in.

We just know that we’re heading into Mando territory now. SO EXCITING!! I mean, Boba Fett is making it pretty obvious that is where he’s headed next. And we already know that Din Djarin and Boba meet up, so it’s inevitable. But I am not gonna lie; I am super excited for the end of this season. Why? Because Ming Na Wen said that after the finale we will “see the book of boba fett in a whole new light”. So now that is all I want, NEED to see lol 😂

IMAGE VIA IMDB / DISNEY / LUCASFILM

ALSO, CRAZZZZYY seeing Boba get his ship back, I mean, wow! That was super exciting to see. I was kinda hoping they’d show us how he got his ride back, and they did, so I am pleased about this episode. And I cannot wait for the rest! All of you nay-sayers BE GONE lol (jokes everyone has their own opinion, the more, the merrier!)

Thanks for reading, friends – let me know what you thought of the last two episodes so we can chat all about it. As usual, I will be hanging out in the comments, so hit me up!
