SWTOR Update – The Most I’ve Ever Spent on One Armour Set😲😬

SWTOR MILESTONE #3

It’s been a long while since I’ve updated my blog about Star Wars the Old Republic even though I play almost every day. When I say I play though I mean I log on and I spend time on the GTN and updating my inventory lists when I trade. I’ve been an avid trader off and on in SWTOR for a long time now.

I enjoy trading because it means I don’t really have to interact with anyone. Back in the day when I was a serious PVPer I did the whole thing; I became part of a huge and prominent guild at the time and took my time in the game very seriously. I don’t think I really enjoyed it all that much which is why I guess I turned to trading. It’s a little anti-social but it’s my time and I think it’s important to put time aside for yourself!

Below is a snippet of my armour inventory list showing the Turncoat set as missing:

So yesterday I came across an armour set that I’ve never seen in the game since I started collecting. This was a HUGE deal for me because I’ve had this set on my list for years! To finally see it for sale on the GTN gave me a fright 😂 I wasn’t quite sure what to do. All I knew was that I had to have that set so I quickly went about moving credits on my characters and bought it. It is the most I’ve ever spent in the game costing me SIX BILLION credits.

I was so hyped about seeing the set there that I screwed up royally and accidentally bought two of the same item lol 😂 So now I am trying to make those credits back 🥲

The set that I got is actually quite ugly. And it’s not even a gold or platinum set. It still cost me six billion credits because the people selling the pieces knew that it was rare so they hiked the price right up (which is kind of expected) – I’d probably do the same thing.

Now it’s back to happy trading on the GTN after that nice little excursion and being able to add a set I’ve needed for a really long time. I know there are other sets I don’t have but most of those sets are not cartel market sets. There are some sets I don’t have because they’re reputation sets you can only get through reputation with a certain faction or planet. Those sets are not really included in my inventory as I primarily focus only on GTN and Cartel Market sets.

Darth Malgus Motion Art – SWTOR

Hi everyone! So I am slowly easing back into regular posts again, and since I haven’t done an art-related post in a really long while, I thought I’d make some motion art for Pinterest and for here (of course!)

Here’s one I did of Darth Malgus taken from the new SWTOR background, which I just loved! Here’s the original image, and I just loved Darth Malgus’ pose here, so I decided to “borrow” it for an image I wanted to make:

Take out that (awesome) noisy background and replace it with this!

Annnnnd add Darth Malgus back in, and yay! 😁

Don’t ask me why he’s on a planet that looks a lot like Mustafar. I just liked it lol.

And here’s the finished image with animation added (because it looks terrific, I think!)

State of the Game: SWTOR The Forgemaster’s Armour Set

I’ve been playing SWTOR off and on since it released and I’ve blogged about it at various times on this blog when I was going through “gaming” phases. I guess I’m back there again because I really miss blogging about SWTOR armour and the comparison posts I used to do so I’m going to try and do this more regularly. It won’t be a lot of SWTOR but I will sprinkle it into my blogging schedule monthly.

So I wanted to start with this armour set that I am currently wearing called The Forgemaster’s Armour Set:

This armour set is based on this armour from The Mandalorian:

It has similarities for sure but overall I think this armour set in SWTOR is very much it’s own set without too much overlapping with The Amorer from The Mandalorian.

Parts of the amour glow a faint green colour which I really like!

Name: Forgemaster’s Armour Set

Rarity: Gold Armour

Where can it be bought/found? Set found in the Ultimate Cartel Pack on the Cartel Market or on the GTN

Cost in credits: I have sold this set for 300 million credits but it can go for anything between 400 – 150 million credits usually on my server.

ARMOUR SET RATING: 9.5/10

I rate this set an 9.5/10 because it looks really nice, the organic colouring of the armour is also really nice and aesthetically, it looks amazing when you wear it.

Highly recommend buying it if you can get your hands on it!

Lucasfilm Games Announcement and a SWTOR Update

Today it was announced that Lucasfilm has now created their own gaming label called “Lucasfilm Games”. What this means for the future of many games connected to the Lucasfilm label is unsure, but an announcement on the Star Wars official website said this:

StarWars.com is thrilled to reveal that Lucasfilm Games is now the official identity for all gaming titles from Lucasfilm, a name that encompasses the company’s rich catalog of video games and its eye toward the future. To mark this new era, Lucasfilm Games has launched social channels on Twitter (@LucasfilmGames) and Facebook (@LucasfilmGames), which will deliver breaking news and more directly to fans. You can watch a special sizzle reel celebrating the history of games from Lucasfilm below; the Lucasfilm Games logo, featured above, will appear in all future Lucasfilm Games titles.

I am not sure if this means that Lucasfilm Games will be developing any of these titles going forward and that will be interesting indeed for companies like EA who create games and distribute them specifically for Lucasfilm.

I’ll be keeping a sharp eye out on this development as I am very much a Star Wars gaming enthusiast and this could impact the gaming community in a big way depending on what happens with any of the titles they own.

SWTOR – Night Life Event Part II

So for anyone not interested in SWTOR feel free to ignore this post. I felt the need to write it because the current event that is held inside Star Wars The Old Republic is beginning to get on my nerves for various reasons.

Inside this game I am a billionaire. No, I am not boasting, I am leading up to an argument that proves someone with my means inside the game should really have more options than the game provides.

I have everything I want from the Night Life event except one mount that is almost impossible for me to get. The reason for that is technically, I am considered a “casual” player because I don’t play daily nor do I belong to a guild. I log on to play when I feel like it and it suits me fine. What SWTOR has managed to do better than a lot of other MMOs is cater to both the frequent player or “hardcore” variant as well as the casual. But there are only two ways to obtain the Emperor chips that I need. One is to PVE in the game which is a big “no” as I don’t have the time to do that or to spend hours on the Kingpin machines hoping to see the emperor chips drop.

It also looks like they may have lowered the drop rate on the emperor chips as well which is doubly annoying.

The Night Life event is one of my favourites but it seriously has its flaws in terms of its design. Firstly, if you are rich and have thousands of credits, you will eventually get almost everything on offer at this event. So while you play the casino machines, you will be racking up a lot of golden certificates and cartel market certificates. To give you an indication, I currently have 230 cartel market certificates and 47 golden certificates. I also have two of the rare Phrojo Nuray companions and three of the vectron wraith speeders.

I could just give these to my other characters as they are bound to legacy which is fine. But I don’t really have any need for the golden certificates or the cartel market certificates because I have everything I want from the items available. So why can’t the developers create a method for people like me to be able to either a) cash in these unused certificates for something they want such as Emperor chips to use on the Hutt machine OR some other sort of equivalent.

They haven’t updated the cartel market items since I started playing this game back in 2011. So as you can imagine, I have just been accumulating cartel market certificates for no reason at all since they won’t update the items ever. So that is all my time and effort amounting to nothing at all. I cannot use them to buy any items and we are not allowed to trade them.

Poor Me 😂 🤣

I get that they want the economy to stay balanced which is the only reason I can think of for restricting the trading on certificates and rare drops from the event. But seriously, I think this is unfair for players like me. We have nothing we can do with this currency when we should have at least another option to cash them in somehow. Oh I also have 400 plus Kingpin chips too which I doubt I’ll ever use again.

I am thinking of putting some of these comments into a forum post to see if anyone else is in the same situation as I am. I do know that the devs of SWTOR are very responsive in the public forums with feedback. So if my request gains traction, you never know where that could lead. I am being optimistic but I try to look on the brighter side 🙂
