Star Wars Cinematic Universe – Filming on the Obi-Wan Series Has Begun *SPOILER ALERT*

THIS POST IS GOING TO BE FILLED WITH POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOR THE NEW OBI-WAN SERIES, SO PLEASE, IF YOU ARE AVOIDING THEM, DON’T READ ON.

Any news about the upcoming Obi-Wan series will get my attention before anything else, including May the Sith Be With You day. Noah Outlaw seems to have the mad contacts or is just really good at taking photos without anyone knowing. He uploaded these beauties to his Twitter account:

Via Twitter

Pretty cool seeing that Bantha! I suppose these images aren’t that spoilery, considering we know about Obi-Wan going to Tatooine already, but still, it’s enough to get me SUPER hyped (not too much, though, lol) for things to come.

Also, I’d like to give everyone reading this a general update in terms of the blog. I am slowly linking every image and edit I’ve ever made to images on Pinterest for this blog. I actually realised that for some reason, I haven’t uploaded everything I’ve edited or made to Pinterest, and I am trying to drive more traffic to this blog. Pinterest has been a huge help in that regard over the last year or two and still remains one of my best traffic sources.

So you might see a whole lot of images you haven’t seen unless you’ve been with me since day one. Some of them could be double-ups, but I hope to have fewer of those in the coming days.

Anyway, thank you for reading friends, I hope you’re having a good week. It’s getting close to the weekend, though, so hang in there, and I’ll catch you in my next post!

Who is your Favourite Space Dad in Star Wars?

I don’t know where the name “space dad” came from. I assume it was on social media, probably Tumblr. It’s very similar to the term “space twins”, which definitely came from social media, and I’ve seen it used everywhere since.

So I figured we should vote on who we think is the best “space dad” in the Star Wars universe and why? I will keep this just to the Star Wars cinematic universe (that is, including TV/streaming shows as well) to keep things simple, but there are quite a few examples just from the SCU alone.

I’ll post the images, and you can all vote on who you think the best Space Dad is in the SCU and why! Doesn’t that sound like fun! 😆😁

Okay, so on with the show… first up, it’s Din Djarin as Grogu’s space dad. Could he be the best space dad in the SCU? Let’s take a vote! Get to those comments, people and let me know!

EXHIBIT A

Din Djarin and Grogu

Are you voting for Din Djarin as the best space dad? I mean, just look at him cradling Grogu. 😅

EXHIBIT B

Han Solo and Ben Solo

Han and Ben in TRoS – still one of my favourite scenes in that film. Not much to go on; at least Han was there at the beginning of Ben’s redemption.

EXHIBIT C

Uncle Owen

We don’t have a lot to go on other than Luke turned out to be amazing, so some of that must have come from Owen and Beru.

EXHIBIT D

BAIL ORGANA

Bail Organa brought up Leia, and look how she turned out… geez, this is going to be a tough one. 😅

I know that at least two of these choices are not as prominent as the other two (being Han and Din Djarin) because we have more material to work with. But take into consideration who the children became, particularly Luke and Leia growing up with adopted parents.

So let me know in the comments who you choose OR let me know of another Space Dad, not on the list that you have chosen and why!

See ya in tomorrow’s post or in the comments, friends!

Star Wars The High Republic – Avar Kriss’s Metamorphosis

I was inspired by Tina’s post here about Avar Kriss and then did some digging to find that there are many redesigns for the principle protagonist for The High Republic books and comics.

In Tina’s post, there are several renditions of what Avar Kriss with some key elements that remain the same such as her hair colour. Not so sure about the eyes, though.

If you haven’t yet seen this featurette on The High Republic highlighting Avar Kriss, you can check it out below:

Via Star Wars on YouTube

It’s interesting to see just how different Avar Kriss looks in this video compared to some of the earliest images released for her in the comics and books:

And then there are fan-made redesigns which I actually like a whole lot, particularly this one:

Art by Steven Wayne

And finally, a couple of GIFs I made from the featurette of their rendition of Avar Kriss:

But my ultimate overall favourite image was one Tina found, and I am pretty sure it’s not a variant cover but an artist’s rendition, maybe. I did manage to decipher the artist, though, which I think is “mayhew” on the image itself:

Art by Mike Mayhew

And yes, I finally found him – his name is Mike Mayhew, and he is a comic book artist – and REALLY good at what he does. His Deviant Art page is here. And the image above was uploaded to Reddit and Facebook and says that it’s the #4 variant cover of Star Wars The High Republic Volume One. I checked that on the Star Wars Fandom website, which is usually a great source for finding books and comic books and their variant covers, but it’s not showing there. Sometimes artists make their own version of a comic book cover, so at this point, I think this isn’t official (yet). It might be, but I can’t confirm it anywhere.

If you find this information, please let me know to update my post and correct it.

My favourite is by Mike Mayhew, and I also love what they did with Avar Kriss in the animated featurette.

How are you finding The High Republic books and comics? Check out Tina’s website for more information on the books as she is (I think) working her way through and reviewing them.

Have anything to add about The High Republic? Let me know in the comments. I am always lurking somewhere. 😎😁

Star Wars Rumours – Jedi Fallen Order 2 and Battlefront 3

Two rumours relating to Star Wars video games Battlefront and Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order are now circulating on social media. Comicbook dot com reported that the latest rumours “speculate” that Jedi Fallen Order will be getting a second follow-up game after the first game released in 2019. The other part to this rumour is that there will be a special cameo by none other than Darth Maul!

In addition to this, the rumor claims the Inferno squad will also be making an appearance, though, like the Darth Maul cameo, no additional details are divulged. What the rumor does make a note of is new inquisitors, with one supposedly being Terrelian.

The rumor concludes by noting the game will take full advantage of Unreal Engine 5 and is currently aiming to release in 2022, which means we may see it sometime later this year. Adding one last point, the rumor also claims that Star Wars Battlefront 3 will be announced soon.

Reported by comicbook dot com

That’s pretty exciting, right? Well, for a rumour.

The second rumour which was circulating on social media last week relates to Star Wars: Battlefront 3. The rumours started after two Star Wars: Battlefront 2 actors revealed they were working on another game. Now this might not have anything at all to do with the Battlefront franchise. They could be working on just about anything. But you know how rumours tend to take on a life of their own as more and more people add their own interpretation to the mix.

And here’s a quick edit I did mucking around in Photoshop to celebrate the rumours just because I felt creative this afternoon

Let me know what you think of these rumours in the comments friends and I’ll catch you in tomorrow’s post or in comment land 😁

Quick Update!

I am waiting for Pinterest to update their metric to the new one as I talked about here the other day. I don’t know why I am so concerned about it but I guess we’ll see how things go tomorrow when it takes affect.

I’ve also been busy making edits and I spent a whole heap of time on one today and then deleted it because I didn’t like how it turned out 😅

In the meantime, here’s a quick edit I did of an image of Anakin which I am still working on to make something else but I’m not quite sure what that is going to be yet but I am thinking I want to make a poster. And I want to do one of Padme as well…

EDIT BY DARKSIDE CREATIVE

Let me know how you’ve been getting on in the creative space – have you done anything interesting recently? Hit me up in the comments as usual 🙂
