Game of Thrones – Final Season Episode five

GOT SPOILERS AHEAD

Well, wasn’t that a treat?

So as mentioned in an earlier post, I already know what is going to happen thanks to confirmed spoilers on Reddit but I have to say that I actually liked this episode. Many GoT fans didn’t but oh well, I thought it was good.

I thought Dany turning into the angry, dragon queen was awesome however, I don’t know how Jon will deal with Angry Dany. You could see by the expression on his face that his heart was breaking as he watched the terror unfolding in the streets. I don’t see Dany coming back from this one, nope, not at all, and if Jon manages to forgive her, my respect for him will cease to exist.

Cersei and Jaime were just tragic together, weren’t they? As mean and as evil as Cersei is, she looked so vulnerable and so very human in that final scene. I may or may not have shed a tear or three for her and Jaime, as twisted as they were together.

And then there’s Arya. How epic was her escape though? It was sensational how the cameras followed her tripping and falling and being crushed by just about everyone. I was happy to see she survived. She fared better than most. She’s still the Hero Of Winterfell to me.

I know what’s coming but I also feel very nervous for the end. If this experience is anything to go by though, I’m SUPER keen for the producers to unleash their creativity on the Old Republic.

Testing Hashtags on Instagram – Part 4

Hi again, friends! After several weeks of testing the Instagram Algorithm, I’m really no closer to discovering the best process for gaining likes and followers on Instagram. I took some time to look at some of the people I followed on Instagram and decided to ask them what their secret was for getting so many likes on their Instagram posts. One account in particular has half the followers I do but when he posts, he manages to get thousands of likes on his posts. So I asked him what it is that he does to gain so much interest in his posts and he told me that he spent time “testing” different hashtags and came up with a diverse list of hashtags that he uses on all of his posts. He said it took him some time to get there, but now all of his posts get thousands of likes no matter what he posts. Continue reading → Testing Hashtags on Instagram – Part 4

Testing Hashtags on Instagram – Part 3

So this post is about a week overdue, but that’s OK because I want to post about the changes I’ve seen on my Instagram account since first testing hashtags. I started this little mini social media experiment on the 20th of February, and for almost a solid month, I avoided using any hashtags in my posts. This experiment was to test what type of impact using hashtags has on posts if any at all. After a month of not using hashtags, I can see a slight difference between not using hashtags and using hashtags.

@social media – It’s all about that hashtag!

Ah, fandoms. You gotta love ’em, and this post is definitely all about a fandom thing I see happening regularly. Star Wars fans will post images, GIFs or whatever and tag them as either “Anakin” or “Darth Vader”. Technically, there’d be grounds to argue that Anakin is Darth Vader, and Darth Vader is Anakin because they are the same person. But for the sake of those that like to see the separate content, Anakin fangirls (me) and Darth Vader fans everywhere (also me), there are unique points in the Star Wars Universe timeline where Darth Vader is definitely “dark side” and evil, and Anakin was obviously not walking around in a black suit of heavy armour breathing through a respirator. Star Wars Meta – Kylo Ren and Rey

I’ve been using random questions every day to try and write more and so far, so good. I was looking at a blog post on Tumblr just before and then it dawned on me; why not use an image or better still, GIFs as a writing prompt?

So, I’m using these GIFs from a post on Tumblr to exercise with this morning. While it’s not something outside of Star Wars, I’ll use these GIFs to start with and maybe change it up as I go.

To me, it’s interesting because I never really thought about this at all until now, but look at how defiant Rey is in this scene! I mean she is in the Throne Room of her strongest enemy who is masterful in the dark side of the force. Rey just doesn’t care! Not a single bit – she takes Kylo’s lightsaber, and she runs toward Snoke without hesitation. This woman is so convicted, so worthy of being a Jedi, so much so, that even Snoke praises her conviction. Snoke acknowledges Rey’s “spirit of a true Jedi” although, a compliment coming from someone like Snoke would always have a double meaning. Continue reading → Star Wars Meta – Kylo Ren and Rey
