I’ve started a new IG account – starwarsispoetry is born!

I’ve wanted to create an IG account for Star War is Poetry for the longest time but I wasn’t too sure how I’d go about it. What I want to do is celebrate the words and literature of the Star Wars universe using words and images (but mostly words as it is an account dedicated to the written word).

So I made this clip for my blog:

And it’s so much easier to manage through the IG app on my phone now that you can use one primary IG account to access all of your IG accounts.

I spent some time creating this template which I want to use for all my posts:

Testing Hashtags on Instagram – Part 4

Hi again, friends! After several weeks of testing the Instagram Algorithm, I’m really no closer to discovering the best process for gaining likes and followers on Instagram. I took some time to look at some of the people I followed on Instagram and decided to ask them what their secret was for getting so many likes on their Instagram posts. One account in particular has half the followers I do but when he posts, he manages to get thousands of likes on his posts. So I asked him what it is that he does to gain so much interest in his posts and he told me that he spent time “testing” different hashtags and came up with a diverse list of hashtags that he uses on all of his posts. He said it took him some time to get there, but now all of his posts get thousands of likes no matter what he posts. Continue reading → Testing Hashtags on Instagram – Part 4

Testing Hashtags on Instagram – Part 3

So this post is about a week overdue, but that’s OK because I want to post about the changes I’ve seen on my Instagram account since first testing hashtags. I started this little mini social media experiment on the 20th of February, and for almost a solid month, I avoided using any hashtags in my posts. This experiment was to test what type of impact using hashtags has on posts if any at all. After a month of not using hashtags, I can see a slight difference between not using hashtags and using hashtags.

Testing Hashtags on Instagram – Part 2

Last month I blogged about testing out the hashtag algorithm theory that hashtags don’t actually make much of a difference to the visibility of your post. I don’t think a couple of weeks is quite long enough to say it is or isn’t a thing, but at two weeks, I can certainly blog about my findings so far. I’m testing hashtags on Instagram

I’ve been reading that hashtags and their use make very little difference to the visibility of your post. I’m going to create posts without tags today to test this theory 😆

You will get unfollowed

If you don’t promote a follower’s art on your blog, in hindsight, I probably should have helped this artist. But if your only motivation for following someone on social media is to get something from them, I’d prefer you didn’t follow me, thanks.

Star Wars Post – Instagram voting on animation

I’ve thought of doing this for some time and I attempted this once before but it kind of died and fell on its face. This time around though, people actually voted for the image to animate and it was fun!

I ended up with equal votes for each image so I had to animate two:

IGSTORIESEDIT02 (792px, 15fps)

Image number two was a black and white image by a deviant art artist I could no longer locate on the site so I couldn’t credit 😦

I’ve already got another image ready to go but I’ll post that later on 🙂
