The Galactic Empire and its symbolism

SITH-RED-GIF2

I’ve been looking for more generic Star Wars art to turn into plotagraphs/GIFs and I found this symbol on my travels across the internet and figured this would be a good place to start. Continue reading → The Galactic Empire and its symbolism

Solo: A Star Wars Story Animated Poster

I had some fun creating this animated poster for Solo: A Star Wars Story but the resizing of the image is a mission because most websites have a limit (Pinterest’s, for example, is a measly 10 megs which is nothing if you’re creating plotagraph animations). My original document was around 122 megs! The above image is a drastically resized MP4. I prefer to use APNG files because they are a lot smaller in size (usually) than both GIF and MP4 but not many social media sites/apps support it which is a bummer.

And here’s the GIF file that I might upload to Pinterest if I can get the size down 🙂

Enfys Nest – Solo A Star Wars Story

Hello, friends and May the 4th be with you –  a little belated, I know, but better late than never 🙂 I’ve been working on perfecting my plotagraph technique this weekend and kinda falling a little flat on my face as you’ll see.

So this is the image I wanted to animate of Enfys Nest (she’s kinda my thing right now seeing that Solo is like 20 or so days away OMG!!) which I’ve featured on my blog before because it’s just so damn cool:

Vader’s Storm

I finally finished my Darth Vader Plotagraph – I spent a lot of time on this one but mostly because I am trying to refine my masking technique (which isn’t that great but it’s getting better). Enjoy 🙂

When Star Wars and Plotagraphs collide!

If you’re reading the title of my post and scratching your head a little, don’t worry, you are not alone. Continuing on from my previous post about creativity and getting back in touch with my “artistic” side, I’ve recently (well, yesterday to be precise) discovered the art form of Plotagraphs. So a plotagraph is where you take a still image and basically animate it. It is not the same as a gif file because a gif file is comprised of several frames to make the gif whereas plotagraphs are created solely by using software to create the animation effect on a single still image.
