Star Wars Artist of the Month!

I haven’t done an artist of the month for a while so here’s this month’s choice and what a wonderful artist it is. This artist’s work first caught my eye on Pinterest and then on Tumblr and I’ve been a fan of her art ever since

Here’s a piece of hers that I’ve always loved – Reylo fans, this is to die for!

The original art (cropped down so I could animate it)

And my little bit of animation, making this beautiful art come alive. Nothing is better than the art itself, but I like to think I add something that makes the art stand out even more. This artist is just fantastically talented – you can find her work here on tumblr.

Reylo Edit – added animation!

I’ve been busy making content banners for the blog as you can see, here’s my first new Star Wars Art banner. Hopefully, this will help to classify my content and make it easier to navigate posts too.

Here’s a quick Reylo animation that I did yesterday but spent way too much time editing it!

Reylo Motion Art – Boomdafunk Edit

Boomdafunk is a wicked artist on Tumblr that makes some of the most amazing Reylo art. She is definitely one of my favourite Star Wars artists (of which I now have an ever-growing list). Browsing through Twitter I came across one of her images and of course, I instantly got to thinking about how I could edit this awesome art into something even more special (hopefully) by enhancing it and animating it. So I added some image enhancements including colourising the original image and then animating it and lastly, rotating the image:

When the creative bug gets hold – more Star Wars creations

I think I’m going through a very creative phase right now. I mean, I’ve always had the creative bug in some form or another. Being a writer, I guess for me anyway, there has always been a connection to art and the appreciation of art. Unfortunately for me, the straight up truth is I sucked quite badly at anything artistic at school and I’ve never had a single art lesson other than learning how to paint by numbers when I was about 4 and learning how to draw stick figures when I was about 14. So everything I do or create comes purely from a love of creating things and not from any true talent – not in the sense that I’d think of myself as an artist because I definitely don’t.

I made a “reylo thing” – having fun in Microsoft Photos

I’ve had a lot of time to muck around lately as I’ve been pretty much bed-ridden for the last week or so with the Flu. As you can tell, my weekly posting of SWTOR content has been non-existent but now that I feel a lot better, I’ll be resuming those posts soonish. I’ve been getting back into making and creating things – I used to create gifs and images quite often too but stopped when I deactivated by Tumblr account a couple of years back.

Here’s a little clip I put together using Microsoft Photos. I had fun playing around with all the different settings and animation effects you can use.

Please note: the above artwork is not my own, artist unknown – I only edited and enhanced the original image using Microsoft Photos.

Star Wars – Masked villains and why we love them so much!

“Can we remove your mask, Sir?”

As I sit here full of the flu and feeling awful enough to probably go back to bed, I have nothing but serious amounts of star wars feels going on and an overwhelming urge to write about them. I was looking at the latest awesome Solo: A Star Wars Story images released via milnersblog.com, busy pinning them to my Pinterest board when I kinda started to think about Vader and Kylo Ren, and Enfys Nest and then got to thinking about why so many of the most important villains and characters in our beloved Star Wars universe hide behind masks. Star Wars is Poetry – “The Balance”

Star Wars is Poetry – here is a poem I put together using Rey and Kylo Ren/Light and Dark/The Balance of the Force as inspiration. Hope you like it!

The Balance Star Wars is Poetry

You
captured my heart
with a touch, with a touch
In a moment
lost in time’s embrace
We found our way to heaven

As darkness rises
In your light, I shall hide
until the pain, and the fear,
and the suffering
subside

For you
are the light
that saved me, that saved me
In that moment
lost in time’s embrace
We found our way to heaven
