While the release date makes me sad because it’s so far away, it also makes me happy because that means it will be a while before they allow pre-orders which will give me time to save for it (I anticipate it will be more than $1000.00 NZD). When I get this it will be the most expensive collector’s item I have bought. My partner said it’s so cool and he fully understands why I want this so much lol 😁

The Dark Trooper part of the display actually lights up!

So excited for this new figure – I will be keeping the Hot Toys website open until the pre order happens lol 😅 Anyway that’s my Star Wars update for the day.

03/08 UPDATED – I HAVE NOW PRE-ORDERED THE SPECIAL EDITION EXCLUSIVE VERSION OF THIS FIGURINE!!! 🥳🤩🙏

How are things going with you? It’s probably Monday where you are so I hope your week is starting off well (a lot of people hate Mondays lol). Let me know what you think of this figure in the comments!

Star Wars Collector – Qui Gon Jinn 50th Anniversary Figurine

Hi everyone! I hope your weekend is going well. Mine has just ended and I am writing this early Monday morning in Aotearoa – trying to get in an update before I have to go to work (bleh) lol.

So not a huge update, but I did buy a new figure, which I think is my first Qui Gon Jin figure, which I am really excited about! I am not one of those collectors that obsess over figures. I hardly ever look things up online, and I don’t belong on any forums either. I am basically a collector that will check toy stores randomly and buy something if I like it. I know that might be weird to some, but that’s how I roll lol 😅 If it’s something I really want (anything to do with the Skywalker’s basically – Luke, Anakin (and Vader), Ben Solo), I’ll usually buy it. I have my eye on a Darth Vader figure that is 549 NZD, lol, so it might be a wee while before I can call that one my own. But the thought is there, which usually means I’ll end up getting it soonish.

So here is the figurine I bought:

VIA GOOGLE

And what it looks like out of the packaging:

FOR TYETH YOU MUST GET THIS FIGURE!!! VIA GOOGLE

I am super fussy about what I spend my money on, which is why I don’t buy any figures that don’t have a close resemblance to the actual character. It looked so much like Liam Neeson and Qui Gon Jinn; I really liked it. Some figures look awful, and I often don’t know how they pass the QA checks, lol. I guess most fans don’t care about that, but I do.

Anyway, I wanted to shout out to FT for this one because I know he is one with the force when it comes to Qui Gon Jinn. 😁

What have you all been up to this weekend so far? Anything exciting or random to mention or share? Do let me know in the comments, friends, as I look forward to hearing about your weekend escapades. 😁

Star Wars Collector Weekend Update And Our First Chase Funko Pop!

Howdy, hi Star Wars friends! You should all be well into your weekend by now – it’s Sunday here in the land down under, and it has been a stormy, wet weekend. Which, of course, is perfect for going out and having a wonderful breakfast and a great cup of coffee. My partner and I always do this every weekend, so it’s not really that much of a break from our usual routine.

However, we stumbled upon a random event outside one of the shops in one of the malls we frequent, and we thought we’d stick around to see what it was. As it turns out, people were queuing for a Funko pop chance of a Chase (very rare) to purchase and collect.

So we stood in the crowd gathering, and a woman with a box started handing out random numbers to everyone. We decided to grab one each, and I managed UNLUCKY number 13 😅 My partner got number 36, so we waited until they brought out the funko pops. The store owner had someone on a computer using an online app to randomly choose numbers, and if your number was called, you could choose which chase funko pop you wanted.

We had never been part of anything like this before, so we thought it was fun to stick around. We also couldn’t see what the funko pops were. As they called out the numbers, number 13 was called, and I was up 😎. So I made my way to the front and chose the funko pop I wanted from the group. I could identify Robin from Batman and Robin, so I picked that one and went back to Jeremy.

We were trying so hard not to laugh at how random it all was, and to top it all off, we won something without even knowing about the event. 😂 I did feel a little bad for those people that were there for ages waiting in line. But you know, sometimes you just have to be at the right place at the right time.

The chase funko pop we got wasn’t a star wars funko, but I didn’t care. We were so happy about winning it. I gave it to my partner to add to his collection because he collects movie characters and video game characters. We put it into a special hard display box to keep it safe.

For anyone wandering, this is the one we got:

It looks pretty cool, huh? I love the bright colours, and the hood looks amazing! In other updates, we spent some time adding our new items to inventory apps and separating the expensive funko pops that we have and placing them in their own spot into storage. As it turns out, I had a few surprise funko pops I didn’t realise were worth a lot more than I paid for them. We will be buying hard plastic display cases for all of those ones and NOT selling them. At least not for a long time, if ever. I don’t really collect to on-sell, and neither does my partner.

I also stumbled upon the black series Obi-Wan figure, the companion figure to the Anakin Skywalker one I raved about. When I checked these figures online, they were all completely sold out at the usual places I shop at. This is why when I found it randomly today, I was pretty happy about it and bought it instantly along with a beautiful Asajj Ventress figurine as well!

All in all, we have had a great weekend for Star Wars collecting 😁😎 I also got accredited for the Tribeca Film Festival as well but I’ll blog about that on my other blog when I get a chance later on tonight 🙂

Star Wars Collector – Anakin Skywalker Kotobukiya ARTFX Figure Sideshow Collectibles

As promised, my partner helped me put together the ARTFX Kotobukiya figure from Sideshow Collectibles. It was so easy it took less than a few minutes.

This is how he looked before we put him together:

OH ANI in little pieces! Kinda how he ended up lol – Copyright Darkside Creative

As you can see, only a few pieces to assemble but that is just the type of thing I like lol not a lot of fussing about!

And a close-up of the face:

Anakin doesn’t like photos – he’s more of a “stay in the background” kinda guy 😛

And finally the full image:

“You underestimate my power!”

As you can tell by my absolutely amazing photography, Anakin is happy 😊😅 That’s a joke by the way, Anakin is not a happy person and my photography skills are terrible 😅

I’m very happy with my purchase and this figure marks a huge milestone for me in terms of collecting as I have never unpacked a single figure I’ve collected until now! One of the nicest things about this figure is that it is partially metallic (which is why it’s so heavy) on the inside with some sort of plastic resin on the outside. And because it’s partially metallic, it can be nicely positioned on the lovely black magnetic base that it came with!

It looks exactly like it does in all the pictures that I’ve seen which is the best part I think. I mean the last thing you want is to buy something only for it not to resemble anything you’ve seen in images online!

What did you all get up to this weekend? Let me know in the comments dear friends and I’ll catch you in my next post!

Okay HERE’S a funny Star Wars Merchandise thingy I Must Share 🤣😅😆

Hello, dearest Star Wars friends and readers! Yes, it has been a few days since my last update, but there is an excellent reason for that, which relates to one of my other blogs. I am finally getting my A into G and starting a “side hustle” – one that I know I can do and hopefully, will eventually grow enough for me to leave my day job 🙂 But I am taking little steps, including going back to my roots (reviewing books and media, which seems to be in my blood, lol) and seeing how things progress.

But enough of that stuff, onto the Star Wars funny thing I will tell you all. I did this at the risk of being ridiculed because, apparently, I like to be laughed at by my friends. 🤣😅😆

So I discussed this with one of my friends, who is honestly the BIGGEST Marvel fan I’ve ever met, and she also sometimes likes Star Wars. So we got to talking about fandoms and merchandise, and she was like, “you should check out that item on this website because it’s way cheaper than Amazon”. And then I realised it was almost 100 bucks cheaper to buy from Sideshow Collectibles than from Amazon (including tax and postage fees). I was like, “WHAT THE HECK!” that is a lot of money to take from people buying your stuff. I mean, 20 or 30 bucks is nothing really but 100 bucks more expensive? That is daylight robbery, lol.

So this is the item, and I really loved it SO MUCH when I saw it:

I mean, LOOK HOW GORGEOUS this is! It is made by the famous Kotobukiya team, who are renowned for their figures because they are always so beautifully detailed. You can see just how detailed this one is! And I, of course, fell in love with it and was like BUY lol before my friend told me about the price on Amazon.

So I eventually bought it from Sideshow Collectibles, and now I have it, but this is the thing – IT’S not a figure. LOL, it’s a figure set that you have to put together! Thank goodness it’s pre-painted because otherwise, I’d be in serious doo-doo and unable to do anything with it.

The lesson learned: Always read the fine print before you buy something 🤣😅😆

But I still have it, and my partner said he can put it together for me, so I am so excited lol because it’s amazinggggggg! And the price was reasonable as well. It will also be my first EVER Kotobukiya collectible, so I am super stoked!

What do you think? Any thoughts, my friends? Feel free to laugh and poke fun – I CAN TAKE IT 🤣😅😆 Nah, seriously, do you like this item?

Let me know if you’ve bought any merchandise lately, what you bought and what you think of my purchase in the comments, and I’ll catch you there!

Love you guys!
