Star Wars Cinematic Universe – Star Wars Misquotes #1

There are many famous quotes from the Star Wars universe and I have featured quite a few of them on this blog through my blog series Star Wars Quotes. But I have spent time scouring the internet to make sure the quotes I use on this blog are correct. It takes time to do that, sometimes I have to go through old video clips or search on YouTube for clips that have the scene I am trying to quote from.

I’ve seen my fair share of misquotes on the internet where the blogger hasn’t checked their quote and they’ve posted it incorrectly. While it’s no big deal in the grand scheme of things, I like to make sure my quotes are correct when I post them.

So the Darkside Creative Star Wars Misquotes series is born – and this one is a doozy!

This misquote is considered the biggest Star Wars misquote of all (not sure if that’s from every movie OR whether that pertains to just the original trilogy). For sake of argument, I’ll say the most misquoted from the original trilogy thus far:

The actual CORRECT quote is:

Can you think of any other star wars quotes that have been misquoted as much as this one?

Let me know in the comments, I’d be keen to chin-wag about them!

Star Wars is Poetry – Quote of the Day

I wanted to make an edit from an image I saw on Pinterest and I came up with this and then started thinking about how much of an impact Carrie Fisher had on the Star Wars fandom. And I made this as a small tribute to her legacy on IG.

Carrie Fisher, the Princess of Alderaan, we miss you!

Star Wars is Poetry – Quote of the Day

Today’s quote comes from Princess Leia and it’s one of my favourites. Leia certainly had some great one-liners, especially when she was giving sass to Han Solo!

I found this image on Pinterest and it looked like someone had ripped out the original from a magazine, most likely the Star Wars Insider. So I cleaned up the image, extended the canvas so I could fit the quote onto it and then animated it.

I hope you enjoy today’s image and quote! Feel free to share on social media 🙂

Star Wars is Poetry – Quote of the Day

I’ve started making these Star Wars quote GIFs, and I really enjoy creating them. And the Star Wars universe has so many great characters with meaningful and memorable quotes to choose from.

Today’s quote comes from Obi-Wan Kenobi, and while he also has many memorable quotes, this is the one I chose for today. The artwork for this GIF was created by Marco Checchetto, and the image is from Marvel comic Star Wars: Obi-Wan & Anakin #3

I also made some motion art because I liked the image so much:

Enjoy my friends!

The Best Star Wars Quote Ever!

If you could think of one Star Wars quote that stands out above all others, which one is it? And why does this quote have meaning for you?

There are just so many great Star Wars quotes. And to think of only one as the best is difficult for me. So I imagine it’s the same for you.

If I had to choose only one for the sake of this post, it would have to be:

Via Giphy

The reason I find this quote so meaningful (like many of the Star Wars quotes from Yoda), is that you can easily apply this quote to everyday life. Even though this quote comes from a fictional character in a fictional universe, I find relevancy to real-life situations.

It also reminds me a lot of a quote from another one of my favourite movies, The Karate Kid, where Mr Miyagi is explaining to Daniel the importance of commitment to something and to avoid doubt at all costs.

Therefore, “Do. Or do not. There is no try” for me is really a daily mantra. To try is not enough. You either give it everything you’ve got, or do nothing at all but commit to one.

It almost seems too easy to apply a quote to a hard situation, but Yoda really knows best! Or maybe that should be George Lucas.

I’d love to hear about your favourite quotes, and why they have meaning for you.
