Star Wars is Poetry – Guardians of the Whills

Darksider Blog Banner

A snippet of text taken from the Star Wars book “Guardians of the Whills” by Greg Rucka

That which surrounds us, binds us.

In our connection to one, all is connected.

This is the truth of the Force, no more, no less:

Life binds the living.

That which rises must fall, and that which falls must rise.

From the first breath of the infant

To the last breath of the aged,

We are one, together.

—Kiru Hali, Sage of Uhnuhakka

TOR Character of the Week and Star Wars Quotes

SWTOR Blog Banner

I like to create things. Or more to the point, I like to edit things and turn them into something else or try to enhance something. I would never consider myself an artist because I can’t draw or paint. I think I’m a person that “reinvents” things. But if I do create something I always try to give credit if I am using another person’s image or artwork.

A while ago I posted a SWTOR Character Sheet on Darth Malgus. I found this quite fun to do so I am trying to get into the habit of creating more of them for my blogs/Instagram/Pinterest etc. Here’s my second attempt using Carth Onasi’s profile as the character:

CARTHONASI

I liked this one. The artist is on DeviantArt and it was the perfect image for what I wanted to do. I saw some of these images on Tumblr the other day and decided I really liked them so I am adopting this style into my own creations.

I was playing around with Instagram trying to find different ways to introduce text into static images (because that can be fun to do) and discovered android app Phonto. This app allows you to add all sorts of text-based effects to your images. So I created this one yesterday on Instagram:

Obi Wan Quote 1

It’s quite amazing how an image can be completely transformed just by adding text. This image of Obi-Wan Kenobi is awesome enough without the text, but when you add text, it becomes something else again.

The return of “ERPer” XESHI Reborn

SWTORREPORTED

I wrote a blog post recently about a certain “ERPer” (Erotic Role Player) that was causing all sorts of havoc in general chat on Dromund Kaas. I don’t mind ERPers as long as they keep their role-playing out of general chat. This particular person seems to think she can do whatever she wants when she plays including discussing sexual acts in intimate detail in a general chat channel. SWTOR Holofile – Armour update!

SWTOR Blog BannerHello Star Wars friends! I created a new banner for my SWTOR posts so I can separate them from my Darksider Blog posts which are mostly focused on writing and personal stuff. So here’s an update on what I’ve been doing the last couple of days. My armour collection is coming along nicely as I managed to locate and buy an armour set I didn’t have in my collection: Continue reading → SWTOR Holofile – Armour update!

But I don’t wanna be just another “news” site…

Darksider Blog Banner

When I started this site, I had plans to make it into a Star Wars blog dedicated to Star Wars. That was before I decided to share this space with my SWTOR obsession and writing (fan fiction). For the most part, I think these three subjects blend well together as they integrate a lot of the things I enjoy doing. And I’ve been thinking about the direction of my blog lately and one thing is very clear – I do not want to become another Star Wars “news” blog. That is already covered and flogged to death by so many Star Wars fans. Continue reading → But I don’t wanna be just another “news” site…

SWTOR February Rewards

SWTOR Blog Banner

This month EA is proving to be quite generous with their giveaway to preferred (subscribed) players. There are two articles this month on the SWTOR official website; the first is for “refer a friend” and the second one is for preferred player rewards.
Star Wars The Old Republic News Articles
I’m looking forward to receiving the armour set they’re giving away (obviously) because it’s one I don’t own. As I’ve never officially played for rewards (PvP or PvE), any special armour sets that you can get from PvP (Arena) or from Nightmare Mode Instances I’ve never acquired (sad, but true). SWTOR: Armour Comparison #01

SWTOR Blog Banner

I’ve started comparing armour sets in SWTOR which was always going to be a little side project of mine put in the “to do when not busy on other tasks” basket. As a SWTOR player, I am an avid collector of all things in the game, particularly armour sets. I’ve always been that type of gamer; I’ll collect something because I like to collect things I guess. No other reason. In SWTOR I collect armour sets (both cartel market items and non-cartel market items) dyes, droid pets, companions, mounts and lightsaber crystals. Armour sets are by far the largest collection probably next to lightsaber crystals and dyes. Continue reading → SWTOR: Armour Comparison #01
