Star Wars Collector – Qui Gon Jinn 50th Anniversary Figurine

Hi everyone! I hope your weekend is going well. Mine has just ended and I am writing this early Monday morning in Aotearoa – trying to get in an update before I have to go to work (bleh) lol.

So not a huge update, but I did buy a new figure, which I think is my first Qui Gon Jin figure, which I am really excited about! I am not one of those collectors that obsess over figures. I hardly ever look things up online, and I don’t belong on any forums either. I am basically a collector that will check toy stores randomly and buy something if I like it. I know that might be weird to some, but that’s how I roll lol 😅 If it’s something I really want (anything to do with the Skywalker’s basically – Luke, Anakin (and Vader), Ben Solo), I’ll usually buy it. I have my eye on a Darth Vader figure that is 549 NZD, lol, so it might be a wee while before I can call that one my own. But the thought is there, which usually means I’ll end up getting it soonish.

So here is the figurine I bought:

And what it looks like out of the packaging:

FOR TYETH YOU MUST GET THIS FIGURE!!! VIA GOOGLE

I am super fussy about what I spend my money on, which is why I don’t buy any figures that don’t have a close resemblance to the actual character. It looked so much like Liam Neeson and Qui Gon Jinn; I really liked it. Some figures look awful, and I often don’t know how they pass the QA checks, lol. I guess most fans don’t care about that, but I do.

Anyway, I wanted to shout out to FT for this one because I know he is one with the force when it comes to Qui Gon Jinn. 😁

What have you all been up to this weekend so far? Anything exciting or random to mention or share? Do let me know in the comments, friends, as I look forward to hearing about your weekend escapades. 😁

Stay safe out there and I’ll catch you in my next post!

Star Wars Collector Weekend Update And Our First Chase Funko Pop!

Howdy, hi Star Wars friends! You should all be well into your weekend by now – it’s Sunday here in the land down under, and it has been a stormy, wet weekend. Which, of course, is perfect for going out and having a wonderful breakfast and a great cup of coffee. My partner and I always do this every weekend, so it’s not really that much of a break from our usual routine.

However, we stumbled upon a random event outside one of the shops in one of the malls we frequent, and we thought we’d stick around to see what it was. As it turns out, people were queuing for a Funko pop chance of a Chase (very rare) to purchase and collect.

So we stood in the crowd gathering, and a woman with a box started handing out random numbers to everyone. We decided to grab one each, and I managed UNLUCKY number 13 😅 My partner got number 36, so we waited until they brought out the funko pops. The store owner had someone on a computer using an online app to randomly choose numbers, and if your number was called, you could choose which chase funko pop you wanted.

We had never been part of anything like this before, so we thought it was fun to stick around. We also couldn’t see what the funko pops were. As they called out the numbers, number 13 was called, and I was up 😎. So I made my way to the front and chose the funko pop I wanted from the group. I could identify Robin from Batman and Robin, so I picked that one and went back to Jeremy.

We were trying so hard not to laugh at how random it all was, and to top it all off, we won something without even knowing about the event. 😂 I did feel a little bad for those people that were there for ages waiting in line. But you know, sometimes you just have to be at the right place at the right time.

The chase funko pop we got wasn’t a star wars funko, but I didn’t care. We were so happy about winning it. I gave it to my partner to add to his collection because he collects movie characters and video game characters. We put it into a special hard display box to keep it safe.

For anyone wandering, this is the one we got:

It looks pretty cool, huh? I love the bright colours, and the hood looks amazing! In other updates, we spent some time adding our new items to inventory apps and separating the expensive funko pops that we have and placing them in their own spot into storage. As it turns out, I had a few surprise funko pops I didn’t realise were worth a lot more than I paid for them. We will be buying hard plastic display cases for all of those ones and NOT selling them. At least not for a long time, if ever. I don’t really collect to on-sell, and neither does my partner.

I also stumbled upon the black series Obi-Wan figure, the companion figure to the Anakin Skywalker one I raved about. When I checked these figures online, they were all completely sold out at the usual places I shop at. This is why when I found it randomly today, I was pretty happy about it and bought it instantly along with a beautiful Asajj Ventress figurine as well!

All in all, we have had a great weekend for Star Wars collecting 😁😎 I also got accredited for the Tribeca Film Festival as well but I’ll blog about that on my other blog when I get a chance later on tonight 🙂

A Quick May the 4th Star Wars Update 😄

Star Wars May the 4th Emote

HELLO EVERYONE and sorry to bother you again with May the 4th stuff but I got ultra excited when I finally found somewhere to purchase the one item I wanted this May the 4th which I talked about here:

This is the item I was looking everywhere on the internet to buy:

I know it doesn’t look like much, but the thing is, I love Anakin (it’s a Skywalker thing, and I blame Luke 😂), and I have a collection of Black Series items that I collect. I am quite specific about the things I collect because as a collector unless you’ve got an endless amount of $, you will soon find yourself broke if you don’t specialize. 😂

So anything Anakin in the Black Series I SIMPLY have to get. So I will not divulge how much I paid for this figure, but it’s so worth it to me (I ended up buying from the UK as I couldn’t find this figure anywhere online in the U.S. and preorders were already sold out as well).

I had reserved myself to thinking I wasn’t going to get it and quietly fuming about living in a place where we are mostly safe from the COVID virus but are leaps and bounds behind anything in the pop culture space. I know it sounds insignificant given the state of the world currently but having this one little thing that brings me joy is good for my mental health 🙂 (seriously good). The only downside is that if I get too excited, I can actually get migraines, and I am fighting one off right now. 😣

But it’s all worth it in the bigger scheme of things!

Anyway, I hope you are all enjoying The Bad Batch – I haven’t seen it yet (due to being in a different time zone), so I am looking forward to watching it tonight after work. 😁

Let’s chat about it in my next post!

Luke Skywalker and Snow Speeder – The Black Series 02

Today I went out and spent about $300.00 NZD on Star Wars figurines. There is a new line of The Black Series figures recently released in New Zealand and well, I fell in love with them when I saw them!

I haven’t bought any star wars related anything for some time, not since I got the Blu-ray disks back in June. That is actually a really long time for me not to buy star wars collectables 😅 I am kind of addicted to collectables it seems. But in a good way I think (lol) and I have a weird thing where I never open any of the figurine collectables that I buy. I just like to see them brand new and preserved in their original packaging.

Speaking of packaging, here is one of the figures I bought today and the art on the packaging is so beautiful:

So I made an edit out of the art which I took a photo of first on my phone and then worked on it in photoshop:

I have others that I’ll blog about when I get more time to edit them in Photoshop but I like these images a lot – the art is really pretty!

Have a collectable you want to see featured on my blog? Let me know in the comments friends.

Stay safe out there and I’ll catch you tomorrow!

Star Wars Post – The Black Series Art by Gregory Titus

I collect a lot of the Black Series figurines and it’s actually one of my favourite types of star wars collectable to collect. So the art for these figurines is of course, also pretty up there with some of my favourite star wars art. Gregory Titus is an amazing artist, and his artwork for The Black Series really brings the characters to life.

Speaking of bringing to life, here’s one of Gregory Titus’ pieces for The Black Series, with a little special addition by me 🙂
