Star Wars Cinematic Universe – Behind the Scenes #9

Via Reddit – “Don’t Fall on the Mattress, Luke!”

I find this image so funny because when you’re watching this scene, it is one of the most intense scenes in the trilogy. And then you see this and the mattresses, and you’re just like… wait, what?!

So in this scene, do you think Luke was hoping that he’d die? He basically lets himself fall, and he has no idea where the fall will take him. So to me, he is saying to Vader “I’d rather die than be your son!”… but it can be interpreted in different ways depending on how you look at it.

And this is one of the most fundamental differences between Luke’s experience and Rey’s. I think a lot of the newer generation of fans see Rey as their equivalent to Luke which makes sense, I guess. Except when you look at scenes like this which really, can’t compare to Rey’s experience with Kylo Ren in the throne room. He was reaching out to her for his own selfish reasons and least of all because he “liked” her romantically. But that is a world away from what happened to Luke.

It’s not every day that you learn that your father is responsible for the massacre of so many people and is literally the evilest person in the galaxy (well, almost). And Rey, well she gets to turn down a dude who killed his own father so he could give himself over to evil and the dark side of the force. Not quite the same thing, is it?

From a Certain Point of View – 40 Stories Celebrating 40 Years of The Empire Strikes Back

This was announced on the Star Wars official website today, and I am ecstatic, to say the least! I love these stories all taken from an alternate character’s point of view in the Star Wars universe.

The first of the series had some great stories, even one taken from Captain Raymus Antilles’ point of view. It’s a must-have for all Star Wars fans in my opinion so to celebrate this news, I’ll be featuring excerpts from the first series of From a Certain Point of View in my Star Wars is Poetry post series.

If there is any particular story you’d like me to feature, please let me know in the comments.

Stay safe out there, keep creating and I’ll catch you later on!

Star Wars is Poetry – Quote of the Day

I felt like making this quote using a movie still, and some animated text and I think it came out okay:

Made by Darkside Creative

I’m working on a complete overhaul of my Instagram Account. I have a to-do list for the next five days as I have these days off from work, so I thought it’d be a good idea to work on that.

I have found a scheduling app that I think will work, but it only allows you to post three posts and five IG stories per week for the free version. I don’t think that’s going to work for me, so I might have to end up throwing a few dollars at it monthly so I can maximise my posting schedule on IG.

Do any of my readers have any suggestions for free social media scheduling apps? Most of the ones I’ve looked at all work for free until you need to go over the free threshold, and then you end up paying. Tailwind and apps like that only work well if you pay for them.

Let me know if you have any suggestions for me!

Until my next post, keep safe, keep creating, and I’ll catch ya later
