Referring back to that awesome piece of art by Russell Walks showing Luke Skywalker with Grogu constructing Grogu’s lightsaber, could there be more to this poster? Some Star Wars fans are theorising that this poster could be a potential “spoiler” and that there could be plans to use the “deep fake” de-aging technology for a TV show focused just on Luke.
OF COURSE, I will DIE if this actually happens, as I am sure most Star Wars fans will. I mean, this is serious business for some. This video clip shows you just how much some fans love Luke Skywalker (and yes, I also cried a few tears at this reveal at the end of the second season of The Mandalorian and I don’t care who knows itπ π).
Another reason why I even think that this could be a thing is that Lucas Film hired a YouTuber who improved the technology used to make the “deep fake” of Mark Hamill look even better. You can check out the YouTuber’s channel at the link above.
Let’s remember that nothing is ever set in stone until someone at Lucasfilm or Disney confirms what they’re planning to do with that finale scene from The Mandalorian. It might mean nothing at all and ends there. Or it could mean everything and is secretly the “springboard” from where they will launch the continuation of Luke’s story.
The GREAT news is that there is going to be a special behind the scenes documentary of the last episode of The Mandalorian which has been announced. That will release on Disney Plus on AUGUST 25 so mark your calendars!! I’ll be talking about that on the blog for a while methinks πππ€© That might give us even more information on what they plan to do with that introduction (or is that a re-introduction?) of Luke Skywalker back into the cinematic universe.
Let me know what you think about this rumour? Do you think there is anything to it at all, or is it all just fluff? Let me know in the comments and as always, stay safe out there, and I’ll catch you all in the comments!
Sounds like I need to renew my Disney Plus membership. I just cancelled Prime because I hate paying for them all at once π

Naturally I’d be on board with a Luke show. I’m not sure I believe it, though. I can’t see them using a CGI character as a main character, you know? For a 5 minute cameo, sure, but I think it would be too distracting to watch for an entire show. But what do I know, lol. It could be great. As far as rumors go, I just sit back and wait and see what they bring us. But I agree we do need more Luke content post ROTJ.

Yeah, that’s a good point! But with the amount of interest they’ve had since Luke broke the internet is insane and whenever $ is involved I always think they’ll find a way to capatilise on it π

Agreed. To be honest, I’d rather have more Luke and Grogu than Mando, lol.
