Star Wars is Poetry – here is a poem I put together using Rey and Kylo Ren/Light and Dark/The Balance of the Force as inspiration. Hope you like it!

The Balance Star Wars is Poetry

You
captured my heart
with a touch, with a touch
In a moment
lost in time’s embrace
We found our way to heaven

As darkness rises
In your light, I shall hide
until the pain, and the fear,
and the suffering
subside

For you
are the light
that saved me, that saved me
In that moment
lost in time’s embrace
We found our way to heaven

Darksider Blog Banner I can’t take any credit for finding this piece which I originally saw on a Reddit post. It comes from star wars comic Darth Vader #8 which might seem strange to use as a reference for Star Wars is Poetry, but when you look at the words and ‘feel’ those words, it doesn’t matter whether the source is a comic book, a film, a podcast or even a song; if the words have an impact on you, they are in my opinion, poetry.

A snippet of text taken from the Star Wars book “Guardians of the Whills” by Greg Rucka

That which surrounds us, binds us.

In our connection to one, all is connected.

This is the truth of the Force, no more, no less:

Life binds the living.

That which rises must fall, and that which falls must rise.

From the first breath of the infant

To the last breath of the aged,

We are one, together.

Darksider Blog BannerI realised something today after I spent some time looking at other people’s blogs and well, let’s just say that my blog has a long way to go before I’ll be happy with it. On a positive note, I think I’ve found a way to separate my blog content so I’ve created different banners depending on what the topic is. I’ve created a category for “personal” writing which will be the category I use to write articles like this one that are more personal and focused on writing and the writing process. My other two blog categories are mostly for SWTOR/Star Wars content specifically so anyone who is interested in those posts can search for them via tag/category.
