Star Wars tickets are going on sale SOON!

The big news all Star Wars fans are excited for is that tickets have been confirmed to go on sale for TRoS on Monday the 21st after the trailer drops. For me, that’ll be around 2PM on a Tuesday, so I’ll be at work with my hand on the mouse waiting to book my tickets. Assuming I don’t lose my mind first over the trailer and get all emotional at work… that won’t be good 😆🤣

But seriously, it is a time to feel a little down for Star Wars fans as tomorrow’s trailer will be the last one we will ever see for the Skywalker Saga.

Anyway, here’s a two edits I did, one was split into two separate images and I created the whole image which I think looks better – art by @echoart_hun on Instagram. Isn’t this magnificent?

Spooner Graphics Photoshop Tutorial Review – How To Create a Letterpress Style Poster with Overprint Effects

Coming back to my one and only Photoshop – I haven’t really had time to sit down and work through a decent photoshop tutorial for some time, so one of my goals is to get back to doing an edit a day. Photoshop Tutorials can be time consuming though, depending on what you’re making or learning.

This particular tutorial is by Chris Spooner, and his website is a particular favourite of mine for learning Graphic Design techniques and for great design assets. He also regularly updates his blog with unique discounted assets for designers from websites he frequently uses so you know you’re getting quality content for a fraction of the price.

My focus has slowly turned more and more to designing posters and working with typography. I really liked the look of this poster, so I learned how to make it via Chris’ YouTube channel:

And here’s the finished product. I was quite happy with the result:

Comment: Chris is an excellent tutor, although he does seem to work pretty quickly, so you might have to do a bit of pausing to keep up with him. His tutorials are well made and easily understood, and a huge bonus is that he provides most of the assets you need to make what you’re creating in the tutorial. Like most designers, Chris also uses a lot of stock images which are not always free, unfortunately. You can probably find replacement assets for free online if you know where to look (various websites like Pixabay and Pixelbuddha usually have what you’ll need

Star Wars Movies: What are the top fan-favourite duels?

TOPDUELSDORKSIDE.png

This was my very first article for Dork Side of the Force. I wanted to write something that was appealing to every fan rather than a specific post that focused on one particular aspect of the fandom. I am pretty sure almost every star wars blogger has blogged about their favourite star wars duels, so I figured it was my time to follow in their footsteps 😀

Here is a snippet from the article:

“Light versus Dark, Jedi against Jedi, father against son. If you had to choose one, which duels from the star wars movie franchise would be your favourite?

In no particular order, here are the top five duels from the Star Wars movies that we think most fans vote as the best and why”.

Please go here to read the rest of this article and support your favourite Star Wars blog!😀

Let me know what you think your favourite duels are from the Star Wars franchise and why?

I’m going to start showcasing my work over at Dork Side!

I’ve decided that I’m going to start showcasing my writing for Dork Side of the Force here because it’s Star Wars and it’s relevant. That way, my readers can keep up to date on anything I write there (as I am not allowed to duplicate or copy any articles I write for them as part of my agreement). I will only be blogging snippets of the article so you will need to visit the site to read the rest if you’re interested. But I’ve decided I need to take a more hands-on approach to promote my own writing and to do that, I need to be proactive and start using the tools I already have.

In the meantime, have another Kylo Ren edit for The Rise of Skywalker. 😁

So many possibilities – The Last Jedi

SPOILERS – DON’T READ IF YOU’RE AVOIDING THEM

If you’re reading this there is a very good chance you’ve had a crazy TLJ day just like I have. First the TLJ tickets drop and then the new theatrical poster releases and lastly, the trailer itself.

My Star Wars addiction knows no bounds it seems. I have now become a member of the Marvel website and I am subscribing to read their comics. I’ve actually always been a huge comic and manga fan so I am happy to be going back to my “roots” so-to-speak.

The Balance

This ideology of Good versus Evil, Dark versus Light. Does it really need to be there? If I decide to paint myself White and act with cruelty and malice, would it make any difference if I was painted white or yellow or green? No, it would not. And the opposite is also true. Therefore, for me, it is beyond the dark and the light and goes deeper. The Eastern principle of Yin and Yang fits the Star Wars characters so much better than light and dark. One cannot exist without the other, a person cannot be whole without both influences present and a star cannot shine without the darkness. Taken from this post of mine on Instagram. Image credit.
