I’m a huge fan of the new photoshop updates, in particular the new Neural Filters that are featured in the “Filters” option of the menu. Why am I a huge fan, you might ask? Because you can do some awesome things with these filters like create GIFs by changing the facial features of your image or your subject. Here is a brilliant example of how you can use the Neural Filters to make an original “static” image come alive as a GIF:

I chose this image of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker because I love him and wanted to see how well it would work on this image. Here is the original movie still which everyone has probably seen:

And here is an edit I did in my previous post using the same image but adding the Neural Filter so his gaze shifts:

And finally the GIF I made in Photoshop:

I tweened the GIFs because I wanted to slow the transition between images to emphasise the shift a little more and make it seem more “dramatic” I guess. Now remember, this is using one movie still and just applying the new filters from Photoshop. Isn’t this AMAZING though? I LOVE it and now I am thinking of all the movie stills I can do this with 🙂
