As the title suggests, this post will NOT be spoiler-free so if you have yet to see the first episode PLEASE do not read this post!
I read a someone’s comments on Twitter – sorry I didn’t get the post to embed it but I think this person’s quote fits this episode quite well and that is “Sometimes The Child can be really annoying” 🤣
The Mandalorian is now a Taxi Service
Despite what Din Djarin may think about the services he offers – he’s definitely a Taxi service lol. And not much of a good one, I might add – I mean getting caught by two X-Wing Rebel patrol pilots, trying to escape them and then landing on an extremely inhospitable planet is not what the lady asked for in her trip to see her husband!
The Child is WICKED
We all know that The Child can be cute – I mean Disney are selling millions of pop vinyls and figurines based on this weakness all humans seem to have for little, cute things that hardly speak and look at you lovingly.
However, he is a menace I tell you! Underneath that very cute face and cutesy movements is a hungry beast that will eat just about anything if it looks edible 🤣
Din Djarin is built to survive
My favourite part of the entire episode has to be the spider cave – I mean geez, talk about getting in over your head. I did feel sorry for the amphibian-looking species that was with him though – not only does she have to defend her eggs from an egg-eating little menace but she also had to defend them from an entire nest of super nasty spiders. Not to mention the mama spider!
Din Djarin did an amazing job of getting out of that cave but if it wasn’t for the X-Wing pilots saving them, I am not quite sure they would have lived through that encounter. And that is great writing showing that even someone as heroic and skilled as The Mandalorian can be out of his element and in need of help.
Final thoughts
It was okay as far as episodes go but it wasn’t as good as the first one and let’s face it, now we know that Boba Fett is set to return – we just want to see him and Din Djarin together, am I right?
Thanks for reading, keep safe out there, keep creating and I’ll catch you tomorrow!
I really liked this episode–it had me on the edge of my seat, especially those horrible spiders. Good point about Mando not being infallible. And the Child is just that–a terrorizing toddler! And apparently very hungry. I don’t think we’ll see Boba Fett again anytime soon. They’ll make us wait as long as we can possibly stand it!
