Living with Migraine

I posted a quick update yesterday about being unwell as a result of a migraine attack I had on Friday. It is now Sunday in my and I am still sick. I have had migraine attacks that have lasted a week before but not recently. So I think stress over work may have triggered this as stress is one of my worst triggers as well as hunger and overheating.

The worst part of being sick like this is how it affects my family, mostly my partner. I feel bad when a whole weekend is wasted because I got sick ☹

  1. Oh man, that sounds tough! It has also been a rough winter and I imagine bad weather can further compound feeling sick. Stress can definitely factor in. But listening to your body, getting plenty of rest, taking the time to allow your body to de-stress and replenish itself is important. Just take the time to take care of yourself and you’ll feel much better in the long run.

    Are you able to take a warm soothing bath or shower? That can help relax muscles and fall asleep. Or some instant soup is good for just about any stomachache. Wishing you a safe and healthy recovery!

    1. Thank you so much for the advice 😀 Usually the best thing for migraine that works for me is to take my meds and try to sleep through it. This works 98 percent of the time, but this time the migraine came back twice so there is nothing I can do other than sleep and wait for it to go. I do think work is probably one of the worst triggers so I’m going to have to think about this a lot more. Maybe it’s just time for me to consider a different vocation.
