Writing – Progress is slow but article two is now up!

I’ve discovered that going back to writing for someone other than myself again is not as easy as I thought it would be. I’ve also found that if I want my work to stand out, I have to have my finger on the pulse of the Star Wars community because there are a lot and I mean A LOT of writers writing about the same thing. So far I’m up to my second article which you can see here if you’re interested. I decided to write about The Dark Side book I bought last year because I don’t think many star wars fans actually have it or know about it.

So now I spend quite a lot of my spare time thinking of ideas to write for the site that isn’t being written by other contributors. Not an easy task when you’re trying to make an impression. One other thing that I’ve found is working a full-time job and then writing on top of that is also not as easy I expected it would be. I find myself looking for the right time to write and get my ideas together. It’s not as easy as it was when I had all the time in the world to formulate articles and blog posts when I was a full-time freelancer. Now, it seems every minute of my time needs to be used wisely.

I’m not going to concern myself with page views or hit counters or even dollar signs because I know that once I do that, I’ll obsess over those things and I don’t want to do that at all. I’m also still trying to fight this horrible winter flu that I’ve had since last week. I did take time off work to try and recover, but this virus is really stubborn, and my sore throat and cough still haven’t subsided. I may need to visit the doctor and get some antibiotics since I don’t think my body is fighting it well enough on its own.

On the up-side, can you believe it’s only FOUR months and 22 days until The Rise of Skywalker releases? Where has all the time gone, am I right?
