Hello, fellow star wars lovers! You may recall when I made the first Star Wars Misquotes post, although it was some time ago now. I was always going to continue the post series because it’s quite fun and another interesting way to find out Star Wars facts.
To refresh your memories, here’s the image I made of the most famous Star Wars misquote ever and one of the most famous misquotes in film history:

Try and think back to what you thought Darth Vader was saying and what he actually says in the film. It’s so easy to get it wrong and most people do (even mega-fans apparently).
Here’s my second one in the series which isn’t as famous as the quote above but it’s big enough that people still get it wrong, even today:

Although these words appear many times in the films, they are never uttered once by Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original trilogy. Shocking right? But it’s true. The words that Obi-Wan Kenobi made famous were:

Did you ever get this one wrong? I think in my younger years I most likely misquoted Obi-Wan but now, I am a lot better at remembering the important characters and their words.
Let me know of any others that you think I could add to this blog series – they don’t have to be hugely well-known, in fact the more obscure, the better!
Be safe out there my friends and let me know your thoughts as always, in the comments π
Hi Julie, I was aware of these “misquotes” and the MTFBWY especially. It doesn’t mean “May The Force Be With You” but in fact means “May For Tyeth Be With You” but everybody gets the F and the T mixed up π And I am in canon – I’ve spoken to Admiral Ackbar!
However to be serious for a moment…The MTFBWY quote I knew about because I still own one of those Hasbro interactive training lightsabers (Anakin Episode 2 hilt) and it has various quotes depending on the mode the saber is set to (spoken by Yoda such as “Control! Control! You must learn control!” etc). When you power the saber down however, you hear Obi-Wan say “Remember….the Force will be with you…..always……..” as the power fades and the saber switches off so I get a constant reminder.
It would be fun though to see you tackle Carrie Fisher’s line “General Kenobi, years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars. Now he begs you to help him in his struggle against the Empire. I regret that I am unable to present my father’s request to you in person, but my ship has fallen under attack and I’m afraid my mission to bring you to Alderaan has failed. I have placed information vital to the survival of the Rebellion into the memory systems of this R2 unit. My father will know how to retrieve it. You must see this droid safely delivered to him on Alderaan. This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope.”
Just kidding….but Carrie could recite it perfectly on cue till the day we lost her.

Wow that is amazing – I wish I had that lightsaber, that sounds so cool to hear Obi-Wan’s voice when you power it down π I have a first generation Kylo Ren figure that I actually bought at a Disneyland store when I visited the States in 2015. There are quotes recorded for the figure that were HUGE spoilers for the movie so they stopped shipping it with the original recordings lol And some of the recordings were not used in the film so it was obviously from a very early cut of the movie. I love little things like this because you can always find things you never knew if you look hard enough. That quote from Carrie Fisher, I’ve seen video clips of her and she was reciting it verbatim lol even years later. Pretty amazing π

Hi there, yes the saber is amazing eve after all this time. The chrome paint is chipped here and there but it still functions. To activate you have press the two on/off switches in a certain sequence you punch in so it’s a secret code then you have the choice of just swinging it at your “frenemies” or take the interactive classes that teach you how to swing the blade in a controlled manner.
I too have a few Force Comlink figures but I don’t have the comlink with the speaker built in to hear anything. I have looked online but Ebay and ETSY sellers set some ridiculous prices for old stuff sometimes. I did hear they cut Kylo’s figure as he mentioned Daisy Ridley’s character name before Disney were ready to reveal it publicly.

Yup that is correct he actually says her name in one of the quotes from the film which got cut in the newer version of the figure lol I didn’t even realise this until I saw the movie because back then I wasn’t into collecting as much as I am now π

Yeah the “Luke, I am your father” one is a biggie. I didn’t realize it was a mistake myself until some years ago when I saw it pointed out, and thought, oh, yeah, Vader doesn’t say that, does he? Lol. I can’t really think of any other misquotes I’ve heard, but one thing that kind of sticks in my craw is when people misspell Rogue One as “Rouge One.” I’m the spelling and grammar nerd, and it really bugs me, lol.

I saw a funny meme once with the cast of Rogue One wearing rouge on their cheeks with “Rouge One” at the top, lol.
