Star Wars Trivia #1 – Which One Would You Choose and Why?

I’ve been having loads of fun on Instagram asking everyone these trivia questions. I think I started something because now I can’t stop making them 😅😆 So welcome to Star Wars Trivia #1.

I’ve made a list of the worst Star Wars movies ranked from worst to best of the worst. I haven’t been game enough to post that one yet. I have seen how some fans react to trivia questions on Twitter. Let’s just say things can get heated pretty fast.

I’m not looking for drama. But I am genuinely intrigued about what the greater fandom thinks about these things which is why I’ve started asking questions. Plus Star Wars Trivia can be so much fun. I really enjoy reading everyone’s opinions.

So my friends, here is the first one of many I’ll be posting hopefully at least one a week depending on whether or not I run out of material to work with.

Star Wars Trivia #1

Here’s the question – out of these two star wars stories, which one is better and why? The object here is you have to choose so you can’t say “well I like both because”. I find it way more interesting when you have to make the hard decision and back it up with your reasons for choosing whatever you choose.

Let me know as always friends, what you think and what you choose and most importantly, why. Let’s chat and catch up in the comments!

Thanks for reading, stay safe out there and May The Force (and good Christmas vibes) Be With You ☃️❄️🌟

Star Wars Cinematic Universe – Who Is the Most Tragic?

I asked this same question on Instagram to varying responses (as expected) but a few surprising ones also. Now I am in no way saying that these characters have THE most tragic stories in Star Wars. This is simply a selection of characters I’ve chosen for this particular quiz.

I wanted to include as many characters from all three parts of the Skywalker saga because that’s only fair. R2-D2 is the only character to live through the OT, prequels and sequels. So if you think time is a good indicator of how tragic a lifetime can be, he’s probably right up there.

Let me know who you choose and why – the why is very important here. Also, people hardly ever mention the droids or Boba Fett but if you recall, Boba’s life was pretty tragic from day one I mean imagine finding out that you’re a clone of your father and your DNA was used to create a clone army that eventually killed almost every living Jedi. There are some pretty tragic stories here.

My choice (and it was a hard one) is Anakin for reasons I am happy to reveal (but most people already know) in the comments 😅

Talk to you soon in the comments OR in my next post!

Star Wars Trivia – Did You Know #11

It’s Star Wars Trivia time again! I hear you all clapping and cheering out there lol – who doesn’t want to know more about a galaxy far, far away? 😁😅

Made by Darkside Creative

So apparently the word “Wookiee” was originally spelt with only one ‘e’ during the 1976 novelisation of A New Hope! Pretty cool huh? To be honest, I never noticed it myself😅 and not sure why it was changed either but that’s a fact according to Jennifer Landa.

I hope you are all having a good start t your weekend! Let me know what you’re getting up to in the comics, friends!

Star Wars Trivia – Canon Facts: Who Is Darth Tanis and Darth Phobos?

Hello Star Wars friends! I hope that your weekend (or close to the weekend) will be kicking off right now, and you should all be relaxing at home doing something creative or nothing at all! Unless of course, you work on the weekend and if so, my commiserations 😅

Getting right back into my favourite topic to write about – a galaxy far, far away, I’ve been rethinking my IG strategy, and I’ve come across some cool trivia posts along the way. So I am going to borrow this one from IG account @strictly_star_wars_ because their account is awesome.

So when I choose canon trivia to blog about, I focus on the lesser-known trivia because most fans will know the most common stuff.

Here’s the post I saw on IG:

Via @strictly_star_wars_ on Instagram

Out of all of those Sith lords, which ones did you NOT know about? I read the caption and was like, “who is Tanis? And also Phobos?” As far as Phobos is concerned, the only one I know about is in a video game I used to play a lot when I was a kid 😂

I am guessing Tanis and Phobos aren’t that well known, at least not to me, so I went about finding pics and information to put to the names online:

DARTH TANIS – DARK LADY OF THE SITH

So this is actually really interesting because this is a female Sith master who lived on Malachor!! Some references refer to her as a Sith Witch but not sure how accurate that is. She was important in sith lore because she was the first sith to create a kyber-powered superweapon. Pretty cool, right?

I went looking for an image of her, and it was tough to find one – the closest I could get was this one on a french website called Star Wars Fanon Fandom, and she is AMAZING! I WANT that outfit, please ☺️😅

Darth Tanis was said to have died during the Battle of Malachor after the Jedi raided the planet to stop Tanis from using her superweapon. She was killed using the weapon, which immediately turned anyone within its range to stone! As Tanis was living underground in a Sith temple when the Jedi attacked, there is now an underground graveyard full of stone statues of the warriors that died there (how creepy!) The event is now referred to as The Great Scourge of Malachor.

You might also recall in Star Wars Rebels that Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, Ahsoka Tano, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, and several Sith acolyte Inquisitors all looked for the hidden temple on Malachor. Ezra located the Sith Holocron embued with Tanis’ presence which was powerful enough to turn on the superweapon.

There is also a fascinating side note to The Great Scourge of Malachor that involves Darth Sidious and his then apprentice, Darth Maul, but I think I’ll leave that for another post.

You’re getting sleepy, Ezra … very, very sleepy

DARTH PHOBOS

Darth Phobos was, much to my surprise, a lot easier to research and find images for. She was a Theelin female sith born on the planet of Korriban thousands of years before The Clone Wars.

She has appeared in video games as a simulation which was used as part of the Jedi Trials. Starkiller himself faced down her simulation during these trials in The Force Unleashed.

She was a particularly nasty sith master who manipulated and controlled people with her mind. She was so ruthless that her own kind turned on her. Shortly afterwards, Darth Phobos created her own group of loyal cult followers. Her name “Phobos” is a play on the word “phobia”, meaning fear.

And thus endeth our Star Wars Trivia lesson 🧐😎 I hope you discovered something new and interesting in my post. Let me know if you have any questions – you know the drill!

Catch you in the comments, hopefully, and if not, I’ll catch you in the next post!

Star Wars Trivia – Rey and the Mirror Cave from The Last Jedi

Hello friends! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and lazy Sunday! It’s Monday morning here, but as mentioned in my previous post, it’s a national holiday, so I’m using today to catch up on all the writing I need to do.

I’ve also been reading my new Star Wars books and thought this little tidbit of information was cool to share regarding Rey and the mirror cave. I’ve read many people’s thoughts on the mirror cave sequence, and most of them were wrong, lol (according to this book). And while I love reading the ideas and speculation from fans, I prefer the facts regarding trivia. Pablo Hidalgo is one of the leading professionals in that regard, so I defer to his book:

How they shot the mirror cave scene in The Last Jedi

For the mirror cave scene in The Last Jedi, special effects studio One of Us planned and filmed the scene using Daisy Ridley and a multi-digital camera rig. It was set up so that one take could “ripple” through multiple images of Rey.

My knowledge of camera rigging is limited, but I wonder if they employed a similar technique to the one used in the filming of The Matrix, where multiple camera rigs were set up to film the “bullet time” sequences in the movie.

Interesting, am I right?

I’ll be doing a lot more of these interesting tidbits of information as I go.

Catch you in the comments hopefully and stay safe out there my friends!
