I don’t know if it was just the overwhelming day I had with all the star wars stuff and my over-excitement that caused it but I ended up on my bed after work crying uncontrollably. Today I am not at work, as you can probably guess. So the whole deal with star wars (if you haven’t already read about this) is my dad got me into star wars when I was a kid and I have never looked back. It was one of his passions and then became mine. So my link to the whole skywalker saga is a direct link to my dad. In my head, that is how I see it and in my heart, how I feel about it. So to admit that the whole saga is now coming to an end was a little too much for me, I think.
Even writing this I feel sad and I have tears. Yep, a grown woman crying about a fictional universe – pretty pathetic, right? I know there are other reasons which I’ll blog about on my writing blog becuase it relates directly to that. But I feel very alone and lost right now. And I miss my dad something awful…
It’s not just you, fiction is very very powerful emotionally, and that’s why it’s so good!
I’m so glad Star Wars is such a special part of your life, as it is for me as well. I really hope you feel better soon!

Don’t feel bad about crying. I cried too. Many fans did. The Skywalker Saga is coming to an end. I think it’s only natural to feel a bit of sadness.

Sometimes you just need a good cry.
We’re here with you, too. I just lost my dad recently and you never know when something will hit you. Take care of yourself.

Hi Julie, I find that crying is a sign of strength. It shows that you are connected to something, or someone so when that connection is damaged/lost it is natural to demonstrate the break has affected you. The thought that the “Saga” is coming to a close has affected a great many people not just you. And rightly so that it has…Star Wars and the Skywalker saga has literally been a “Force” that has surrounded us, flowed through us, and held our galaxy together. Listen to the wise words of Emily Faith and Mei-Mei, we’re here in the same starship with you.

Thank You Mei-Mei for the kind words. I am very sorry for your loss – I know how you must be feeling and it means a lot to know other people understand what I’m going through, thank you again

Thank you so much for your kind words, FT – it means a lot that people understand and share this with me, even though I don’t know you all personally, you all feel like my Star Wars family and I am very grateful to have such nice people in my life. Thank you again 🙂

Honestly that’s not pathetic at all. It’s healthy. And fiction very much can overwhelm you when you’re not looking, even if you don’t have the personal connection you have. Don’t worry, cry away!
