Kylo Ren and Reylo – Video Edits

I’ve been looking for more ways to create content for my blog and social media, and that has been taking up a lot of my spare time trying to find the right tool. I’m still using Photoshop for the majority of the edits I make, but there are other tools out there that work really well, particularly for video. And I haven’t really made a lot of video edits for Star Wars as yet. I had made video edits for other things such as when I had a huge fangirling phase over Cobra Kai πŸ˜‚. People on Tumblr and IG seemed to like the video clips I made so I might go back to making them again except solely for Star Wars fans.

Here are a couple of things I have been playing around with lately, not sure if I’ll use them, but I am dumping there here to get feedback if anyone wants to provide some πŸ™‚

And a little GIF I made using the Crello App:

And I animated this art by art_gem on DeviantArt (turn sound on)

I’ll be posting more content over the next few days so you can expect more of this stuff πŸ™‚

If you like my Star Wars posts, you can check out more of them right here.

And while you’re there, why not consider following me on Twitter, Instagram and right here, on WordPress.

Thanks for your support!

  1. Hello there…you might know what I am about to say, but, Blender has quite a good Video Editing and Compositing suite built in! I used it to create my mini “Death Star Trench Run” video (and I built all the models and scenery!) and other little animations. Believe it or not a guy called Thomas Murphy who worked at Marvel used Blender and I bet you have seen the clip he produced. Remember the intro nameplate at the beginning of their movies where all the comic book pages appear and disappear in the outline of the Marvel name, well that animation was done in Blender!
I do have to say the rain in Rainy Reylo sounds a little bit heavy but that Crello animation is spot on!

    1. Ohh no I didn’t know that! Okay that’s pretty amazing πŸ™‚ I love that animation in the Marvel films, its awesome – is that the one that looks like the pages flipping in a comic book? So cool. And I’ve started learning about Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects now because I already know the basics of animating scenes and layers and all that stuff to make the leap there. I have the software as well so instead of going elsewhere and learning a whole new set of skills, I’d rather be lazy and just use software I am already semi-familiar with πŸ™‚ We’ll see how it goes πŸ˜€

      1. Hi again, yes that is the animation. Thomas also did his “audition” for the job by creating “sizzle reels” and animated graphic overlays (like trading card plates) with Blender.
I have found that I use a combination of software (mainly freeware) to achieve what I do so there’s no harm in you trying out Blender. The worst outcome would be you spent some time using it and found you didn’t like it but then again there may be a workflow or function that you really do like!
